Bolstered by the hype generated for its spicy ketchup, Whataburger has decided to start bottling the stuff. The burger chain will partner with HEB stores to sell it this summer. They'll sell the regular ketchup and mustard as well, and they are introducing a new potato chip product called Whatafries. The ketchup will come in 20-ounce bottles; the mustard will be in a 16-ounce bottle. According to Whataburger, its mustard is a "one-of-a-kind" recipe dating back to the 1950s. They are dubbing Whatafries a potato chip version of the their French fries, and they are crowing about the fact...

First, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy last month endorsed a biblical definition of marriage, thrusting the chain in the middle of the debate on gay marriage. Supporters came out in droves to its stores on Aug. 1, driving records sales, according to Chick-fil-A. Now, San Antonio’s Whataburger Restaurants LLC is taking a stand of a different note by suing one of the country’s largest debt collections agencies.

FORT WORTH -- Good riddance? We can’t recall the last time a company promoted the end of a product. Did Ford extol the Edsel? Coke the New Coke? Yet we have Whataburger buying little ads, setting up toll-free hot lines and Web sites, then paying PR people to call attention to the withdrawal of what is easily the Corpus Christi-based chain’s unhealthiest menu item: The A1 Thick and Hearty Burger. The burger has lost its pizzazz, said a PR person with SPM Communications of Dallas, who is not authorized to be quoted by name, Wednesday night, a North Texas hairstylist...

I'm Offended That You're Offended - Merry Christmas Anyway! I'm on a "Merry Christmas" mission and I'm in full throttle. My little yellow VW Beetle has turned into a Christmas billboard with Merry Christmas written across the back window. Yes, I've decided to trek off to work everyday on the public highways with a message that seems to offend people. At stop lights, I even turn my music up a little louder, and to top it off, I sing along with it. Don't I know that stopping at a red light to roll my windows down only to share the...

Sen. John Edwards' standout "performance" at the super-secret Bilderberg meeting in Italy last month may have been a key reason for his selection as John Kerry's vice presidential running mate, according to the New York Times. The 50th anniversary conference of the elite group – which many believe conspires semi-annually to foster global government – met June 3 through June 6 in Stresa, Italy, at the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees. Among the attendees from the U.S., according to a list obtained by WND, were Senators John Edwards, D-N.C. and Jon Corzine, D-N.J., Henry Kissinger, Richard Perle, Melinda Gates (wife...
