BLUEFIELD, W. Va. (WVNS) – A man from Sweden is in jail after deputies said he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl from Bluefield. Simon Apell, 19-years-old, is charged with kidnapping, intent to seduce a minor, soliciting a minor via computer and sexual assault third degree. Mercer County Deputies said Apell has no ties to the United States other than flying in to Charlotte, North Carolina and then driving to Bluefield to specifically meet the young girl.

CHARLESTON — West Virginia House Delegate Moore Capito is asking Seattle-based Amazon to add the Mountain State to its short list of location candidates for its second corporate headquarters. The Family Policy Council in West Virginia has put out an urgent call for help keeping men out of women’s bathrooms in Fairmont. CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - The Charleston Police Department is investigating an overnight graffiti crime where Black Lives Matter was spray painted on multiple buildings. According to Charleston Police, the graffiti was spray painted on the Clay Center and Fox’s Pizza on Ruffner Avenue near Smith Street. Police say they believe the crimes are linked because the paint color matches and the writing style is similar.

FAIRMONT, W.Va (WBOY) -A Fairmont man has been convicted of sexually assaulting and sexually abusing five children over a period of five years after a trial concluded in Marion County on Monday. Iran Eli Glover, 42, was found guilty on all 143 counts against him after a jury deliberated for three hours. He is now convicted of 48 counts of first degree sexual assault, 25 counts of first degree sexual abuse and 72 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person of trust. The jury must be unanimous on each count in order to convict.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Gov. Jim Justice has signed a law ending a doctor's ability to waive the legal requirement to notify parents of an underage daughter's abortion. It allows only a judge to waive parental notification. Under the old law, a physician other than the one performing an abortion can waive the requirement by finding that the minor is mature enough to decide independently or that notification wouldn't be in her best interest.

Charleston Police have confirmed to 13 News that a pregnant woman has died from a drug overdose. It happened on the 400 block of South Ruffner Road around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
