Last December when there were mass protests about the Smith/Garner cases a group of employees at York College (part of the public owned CUNY) in Jamaica, Queens, left their work stations and went outside to lay down in the street to protest the verdicts. A new art exhibit about the Michael Brown police shooting in Ferguson is on display in Chicago. The piece features a life-size portrayal of Michael Brown after he was killed last year in Ferguson. It also includes a black statue of liberty, and a noose dangling from a neon sign.
