I just checked and it is no more. Remember when the Weekly Reader posted the results of the Presidential Election as seen through the eyes of the little ones? I always found it entertaining and I do belive they got it correct often, not sure. They say it was an eye into the way the parental-units were voting as the cookie crunchers brought the family views to the classroom.

I am on the email list of Weekly Reader, and today they announced their "Special election report with state-by-state poster and 32-page biography of President-elect Barack Obama helps you teach your students about our new president and our country's next steps." If his biography mentions his leftist ideology or associations with Ayers, Rezko, and Wright, I will change my name to Donald Duck. You know he will be hailed as the second coming in the public schools. Conservatives should produce a "fair and balanced" biography of Obama for kids and make it available over the Internet. It saddens me that...

I am not the political scientist Jay Cost or Michael Barone are, but I do have some thoughts about why not to waste much time reading anything any of the other pundits say about the candidates or the election. The pundits are getting paid to write what the paid candidate staffers tell them, and they know less about elections than the kids who read the Weekly Reader. I first glommed onto how accurate these kids are when in October 2004, against a lot of expectations, they predicted President Bush would be re-elected. The press release read: Weekly Reader kids select...

Hundreds of thousands of students participated, giving the Republican president more than 60% of the votes cast and making him a decisive choice over Democratic Senator John Kerry. Driving to work this morning at 0500. Listening to Andy Parks and Fred Grandy on WMAL. They mentioned something about the Weekly Reader correctly picking the President since 1956 but did not hear who they said was picked. I went to the Weekly Reader website but found nothing about any poll. Anyone out there know anything about this? Also, since 1940, when the Washington Redskins win their last home game before the election, the incumbant wins. This week they play the Packers who looked really good yesterday. I do not know you guys and dolls but I believe this reporting...

I had been wondering when the Weekly Reader poll was going to come out, looks like October 25. I for one would be very depressed (no matter what the other polls are saying at the time) if this didn't show Bush as the winner. I fully expect that it will, as I have had several people tell me that their kids conducted "informal" polls in their class and found Bush to be the big winner. Millions of students are expected to cast a vote in Weekly Reader's presidential poll. Students can vote online, by ballot or by calling toll-free 888-964-2904....
