What are the latest suggestions or opinions regarding conservative "friendly" webhosting platforms?

According to many customers, sites hosted by major web host and domain registrar GoDaddy are down. According to the official GoDaddy Twitter account the company is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. Update: customers are complaining that GoDaddy hosted e-mail accounts are down as well, along with GoDaddy phone service and all sites using GoDaddy’s DNS service. Update 2: Anonymous is claiming responsibility. A member of Anonymous known as AnonymousOwn3r is claiming responsibility, and makes it clear this is not an Anonymous collective action. The service Down For Everyone Or Just Me says the GoDaddy company...

Can anybody recommend a high bandwidth dedicated server or a distributed server service? A website I designed is receiving high traffic after only a couple weeks, and I am concerned about the bandwidth limitations of the shared server it is on. We will be advertising on television in a few days and can expect huge amounts of traffic. The site has many large video files.

Vancouver, WA Webhoster Aiding the Taliban Posted by SVC Alumnus @ 9:43 pm I am not making this up and making this a sticky until Monday night - make sure you read the comments. America's premier bloggin' and vloggin' terror-buster Pamela Geller (whose Atlas Shrugs blog in the Maverick News Network led the muckraking into exploring Ismael Ax and the Islamic links to Virginia Tech) links to a Jawa Report posting. Here's the most important part about the official Taliban website from the Jawa Report: The official Taliban website is still receiving business services from the Vancouver, Washington Dotster company which masks the webmaster...

For the first time in Canada, an Internet service provider has been found guilty and fined for hosting websites that spread hate messages against blacks, Jews and Muslims. In the landmark ruling by the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal yesterday, southern Ontario's white supremacy movement also took a hit, with two leaders and one group found guilty of violating the Canadian Human Rights Act and ordered to pay $8,000 in fines and compensation. The Internet service provider, Affordable Space. com, was fined $5,000. "The ruling sends a very strong message that Internet servers, if they are aware there is hate content...

No way? Really? Who'd have imagined. Sometimes I just have to check the date on a news story to make sure it's even the correct decade! Israeli Defense Officials Say US Internet Providers Hosting Islamic Jihad Sites Report by Hagay Huberman: "US Internet Providers Host Islamic Jihad Websites" Hatzofe Monday, January 2, 2006 The terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, which was responsible for most of the recent terrorist attacks, and which figures on the lists of terrorist organizations compiled by the United States and the EU, runs Internet sites that are hosted by US-based Internet service providers (ISPs). This was disclosed...

For conservatives, many of the issues important to us are often maligned by liberals. For some of us conservatives who maintain websites, and attempt to discuss and/or explore issues on our sites, some webhosting services disapprove of the issues and discussions and sometimes go so far as to malign conservative customers and their sites accordingly, even refusing service when key issues are being discussed on those sites which are otherwise well maintained, family oriented -- and what by that ensues is the suppression of conservative issues by liberals on the internet. As conservatives, what are your experiences with webhosts? And,...

Tired of playing second fiddle in Web hosting, Microsoft is revamping its server software in an attempt to snatch market share away from the popular Apache-Linux combination. When the software giant releases Longhorn Server in 2007, it will introduce a re-architected edition of its Internet Information Services Web server, said Bob Muglia, senior vice president in charge of Windows Server development. The changes will make IIS more modular, which will speed up performance for Web applications, he said. "We're componentizing IIS so you can load just the pieces of the Web server that you really need," Muglia said. "In the...

An Internet company under criminal investigation for hosting Islamic terrorist websites is using electronic shell games to make it difficult to track down those responsible for its actions. As Newsweek reported, during the past year, 357Hosting, formally based near Utrecht in the Netherlands, hosted a number of Islamic websites that showed the videos of beheadings of foreign hostages in Iraq and messages from Iraqi-based al-Qaida leader Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi. The public prosecutor's office in Utrecht told Newsweek it has opened a criminal investigation into possible Internet hate crimes. But, the magazine reported, the former operator of the hosting company claims...

A recently disclosed list of companies providing service to Hezbollah websites exposed something shocking – 22 out of 25 primary sites for the Lebanese terror group are hosted by U.S. companies. Internet Haganah, an organization that works to uncover and shut down websites affiliated with the global jihad, says it has been tracking and monitoring 25 major Hezbollah sites and found that, aside from two established in Iran and one in the UK, the rest of the Hezbollah sites are hosted by American companies. Israeli security sources confirmed the organization's findings. Seventeen Hezbollah sites, including Nasrollah.net, a Hezbollah site coordinated...

I need some hypotheticals from the smart internet gurus here at Free Republic. I'm fairly web savvy myself, but this has me stumped for the time being. I have a fairly popular website that over the last four months has seen its hits go from about 3,000 a day to about 20,000 a day. At times it has peaked at just over 25,000 a day. Bandwidth is normally about 700 meg a day. This is exciting and good on one hand, but it's also a non-commercial, non-profit site, so the rising bandwidth charges are worrisome. Well today, as I checked...

Do you regularly post images but are having trouble with your web hosting provider? Sick of GeoCities or Tripod blocking image loads when you try to link an image?I run a web hosting business and have some extra bandwidth and a server.FreepMail me, ikka, to get 5MBs disk space and unlimited bandwidth, at no chage. This is for Freepers only.I have lurked a long time here on FR, and now, with FR giving me the gift of a Republican trifecta (President, Senate, House) - this is a way I can give back to the FR community.

I have a question for all of the internet-savvy freepers out there. I have a number of "stations" on MP3.com that have had banners and other graphics added to them. These graphics used to be hosted on a web page that I had up. Since then I've turned off the web page, but I would still like to be able to post my graphics on MP3.com. I've checked out a few different "free" web page services but I can't find one that will allow me to have graphics that can be accessed by other web pages. I've only got about...
