I have DirectV and had DVR'd "The Walking Dead," all eight episodes. The other day I got bored and watched them all in one sitting. As I sat there and let the story unfold, I couldn't help but think about recent events (Benghazi, AP, IRS, NSA and probably scads of others we don't even know about – yet.) I also couldn't help from thinking about the three basic kinds of 'actors' in the series, either. We have the Walkers (undead biters) – mindless zombies endlessly feeding on whatever is slow enough for them to catch. Then we have the "he's...

AMC's "The Walking Dead" was not only the highest-rated scripted show of the 2012-13 season, but the second highest-rated show overall, behind NBC's "Sunday Night Football *- "No real spoilers in this one!".-

Syrian Rebel Bites Heart of Dead Soldier: Video BEIRUT (Reuters) - A video of a Syrian rebel commander cutting the heart out of a soldier and biting into is emblematic of a civil war that has rapidly descended into sectarian hatred and revenge killings, Human Rights Watch said on Monday. The New York-based group said an amateur video posted on the Internet on Sunday shows Abu Sakkar, a founder of the rebel Farouq Brigade who is well known to journalists as an insurgent from Homs, cutting into the torso of a dead soldier. The video has caused outrage among both...

"There comes a moment in nearly all post-apocalyptic stories when the characters are compelled to take to the road. In reality, if there is such a thing, people would do the exact opposite. They stay in familiar halls, linger on the same few streets that are most comfortable. The staples of the genre’s thought experiment would hold true in the real world: the breakdown of order, the need to rummage further and further from home... All of these events are the slow stripping away of the vestiges of the state, deriving step by step the hell that waits at the...

"AMC has struck gold with its hit drama, The Walking Dead. The independent cable television company has created much more than a compelling zombie story. In fact, The Walking Dead is the highest rated show on television among the much chased after 18 to 49 year old demographic, according to The New York Times....... Technology is playing a role in the show’s success. Alexia Quadrani, a media analyst at JPMorgan, gives Netflix at least some of the credit...... AMC’s willingness to release its content onto video streaming services like Amazon Prime means viewers have a cheap and convenient way to...

"*So, “The Walking Dead” is pretty much the biggest thing on television right now. Check out the ratings for the season three finale: 12.4 million. That beats most scripted network shows. For a cable program to do that? It’s groundbreaking, really. It shows just how much people really do love seeing zombies getting impaled by various sharp objects. We love “The Walking Dead,” in spite of all of its flaws, like the snore-inducing second season (leave the #&%(-ing barn already!) and the constant behind-the-scenes drama that has robbed it of some momentum and focus. However, we do have one serious...

"Walking Dead Season 4 it seems could be in for a ton of shocking twists one of which will no doubt **** fans and in my humble view unsettle the entire show. AMC’s The Walking Dead has continued to smash ratings records and draw in fans by the millions and it does this with an outstanding cast of characters but can the show go on and succeed with its leading man? Robert Kirkman answered a pile of fan questions about the series and Season 4 of The Walking Dead and one really struck a note with me which was will...

"Season 3 of “The Walking Dead” concluded with one explosive finale that set an interesting stage for the characters left standing... All in all, it’s been a bristling, brutal season for Rick Grimes and his band of survivors — a number of whom, well, failed to survive. The executive producer of the hit AMC series, Gale Anne Hurd, is not spending a lot of time feeling overly sentimental about the characters who have departed, however. Rather, she’s looking ahead to Season 4, which will see Scott Gimple replace Glen Mazzara at the helm of the show. Late last month, Hurd...

"In a new interview, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd revealed that they will implement a time jump in season four of ‘The Walking Dead.’ Time jumps can be extremely beneficial to an aging series. .... While The Walking Dead doesn’t necessarily need a creative boost (it averaged 11.4 million viewers this season) the series is still fast forwarding at the start of season four! ‘The Walking Dead’ Season Four Spoilers At the end of season three, Rick welcomed the ex-Woodbury group into the prison, sending Carl into a frenzy of frustration. Many questions were left unanswered, but thankfully, executive producer...
