- Today seems a fitting day to review this again - One of the frustrating realities of our polarized time is the media creating a skewed and left leaning view of all things political. However, even with this headwind, each day many more people choose to engage in an honest discovery and understanding of what’s going on. Whether because they stumble upon a concern, or whether they happen across some information that makes them rethink their prior position and views, it can lead to an engagement with us from a perspective of their only reality view having been determined by...

James Vanderbilt's Truth, the high-profile movie chronicling the scandal that derailed Dan Rather's career, has gotten the greenlight to begin shooting this fall. Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment and Echo Lake Entertainment will finance the movie, starring Robert Redford as the iconic news anchor and Cate Blanchett as Mary Mapes, Rather's producer. At the same time, FilmNation has come aboard to represent international rights and will pre-sell the project to foreign buyers at the Toronto Film Festival, which kicks off Thursday night (based on the cast, it's sure to whet appetites). Mythology Entertainment is the driving force behind Truth, which was...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday dismissed a Republican lawsuit against President Obama for his executive orders as an election-year ploy. ... "He was so great on immigration, President George W. Bush. He cautioned in this debate to be respectful of the people that we're talking about. That's really not what's happening right now," Pelosi said.

After the 9/11 attacks, the public was told al Qaeda acted alone, with no state sponsors. But the White House never let it see an entire section of Congress’ investigative report on 9/11 dealing with “specific sources of foreign support” for the 19 hijackers, 15 of whom were Saudi nationals. It was kept secret and remains so today. President Bush inexplicably censored 28 full pages of the 800-page report. Text isn’t just blacked-out here and there in this critical-yet-missing middle section. The pages are completely blank, except for dotted lines where an estimated 7,200 words once stood (this story by...

George W Bush has made his foray into Instagram, posting a couple of patriotic pictures at the start of the Labor Day weekend. The 43rd President has attracted just over 11,000 followers since uploading his first picture on Friday. Bush is featured in two group shots, the first with Southern Methodist University football team's black Shetland stallion Peruna Tonic, and the second on a Dallas golf course.

In an interview with AlterNet this past week, America’s most well-known left-wing intellectual slammed President Obama for his inexplicable “attacks” on civil liberties in the forms of various laws expanding upon the executive powers set forth by President George W. Bush. Speaking with the liberal blog’s Mike Stivers, Chomsky expressed dissatisfaction with the current president’s record on civil liberties: “I personally never expected anything of Obama, and wrote about it before the 2008 primaries. I thought it was smoke and mirrors. The one thing that did surprise me is his attack on civil liberties. They go well beyond anything I...

As you probably have heard, a few days ago Bill Maher shocked his liberal guest -- and much of the world -- by stating very correctly and succinctly that it is "liberal bullsh_t" to equate Christianity and Islam with respect to terror.

George P. See. I don't even have to use the last name and many of you know who this is, though his tio, W, has him beat on name abbreviation. Many calculate that P is a future governor, attorney general, land commissioner or, apparently, holder of whatever statewide office presents itself first in Texas. And someday? You didn't hear it here first — President P. But, of course, were it not for the surname-that-need-not-be-mentioned, he'd have to work much harder to be mentioned. No, that's not quite right. Mexican roots also burnish his star stature. He represents the perfect mixture...

The first official reunion of the Bush-Cheney Alumni Association kicked off in Washington, DC today. The “closed-door” event was supposed to be Bush and Cheney’s first joint appearance together since leaving office, but the former vice president had to skip the festivities because of recent health problems. At the breakfast today (view a picture of the gathering here), Bush talked about his upcoming memoir, joking, “This is going to come as quite a shock to people up here that I can write a book, much less read one.” He also said that Cheney was “feeling well” and “has a fierce...

Former President George W. Bush will not attend the Republican convention next month in Tampa, POLITICO has learned. “President Bush was grateful for the invitation to the Republican National Convention,” Bush spokesman Freddy Ford wrote in an e-mail. “He supports Governor Romney and wants him to succeed. President Bush is confident that Mitt Romney will be a great President. But he’s still enjoying his time off the political stage and respectfully declined the invitation to go to Tampa.” Asked if the former president had been invited to only attend or whether he was also asked to speak, Ford said the...

George W. Bush has stepped out of the public eye since leaving office, but absence hasn't made the nation’s heart grow fonder. The 43rd President of the United States is the most unpopular living former president, a CNN/ORC International poll has found, as only 43% of people surveyed said they had a favorable opinion of him and 54% viewed him unfavorably. The negative rating puts Bush far behind his fellow living ex-Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Dubya’s father, George H.W. Bush. Clinton nabbed a 66% favorable rating, Carter scored a 54% rating, and 59% of those polled said they...

ON Friday night, the nation’s capital was under a tornado watch. And that was the best thing that happened to the White House all week. As the president was being slapped by Mitt Romney for being too weak on national security, he was being rapped by a Times editorial for being too aggressive on national security. A Times article by Jo Becker and Scott Shane revealed that the liberal law professor who campaigned against torture and the Iraq war now personally makes the final decisions on the “kill list,” targets for drone strikes. “A unilateral campaign of death is untenable,”...

There's a group of very special ladies in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area who make 'neck pillows' for soldiers coming through Dallas Fort Worth airport. They head up there and meet the incoming planes every single week just to greet the soldiers who are returning home for a few weeks of R-n-R. These patriotic Texas women give them a pillow, let the troops know that they pray for them, then thank them for their service. And one of these wonderful ladies took the following pictures... she noted that everyone was quite surprised to see George and Laura Bush suddenly standing...

George W. Bush is as hard to find in his father's office, as he is in the 2012 presidential contest. The 43rd president appears in a gold-framed picture tucked into a far corner of the room, partially hidden by a Texas flag and a cabinet door. The placement — whether intentional or not — is a reminder of the Republican presidential campaign and the lengths to which Romney and his rivals have tried to marginalize the two-term president.

Does Anyone Have A Link To Original First Thread Of Bush Document Where FR Debunked Dan Rather? I'm trying to find the first thread where a poster put up a document claiming G.W. Bush was either AWOL or refused an Order. It was during the time the Swift Boat Navy Seamen were exposing Kerry for the fraud he was, and were speaking against Kerry. Can anyone provide me with the link where Free Republic proved that it was a Word Document and a fraud?

Here he comes... Dick Cheney offers no regrets about his controversial role as one of America’s most influential vice presidents or his 40-year career. 'This is not an apology tour. It's the book of a proud conservative. He's not looking to kiss and make up with the NEW YORK TIMES set, or for that matter, some of his former Bush administration colleagues,' declares a source close to Cheney. MORE

Only a few months after 9/11, American troops located Osama Bin Laden in the Tora Bora mountains of Afghanistan - so how was he able to evade them?As members of the British Special Boat Service (SBS) team listened in to conversations on a captured short wave radio, they heard a voice they believed to be their target. Two of the team spotted a tall figure in a camouflage jacket moving with a 50-man protective detail, who went into a cave through a hidden entrance. Only a few months after the 11 September 2001 attacks, Osama Bin Laden seemed to be...
