With Donald Trump set for a yuuge victory in tomorrow's Super Tuesday slugfest - oddsmakers see 80% chance of Trump being the nominee - tensions are mounting dramatically within the Republican establishment. As The FT reports, many mainstream Republicans believe Mr Trump would struggle to beat Hillary Clinton and are urgently rallying around their man Rubio with some senior Republicans saying privately that they might consider voting for Mrs Clinton if Mr Trump were to end up as their party nominee as one conservative commentator exclaimed "we are on the verge of a real meltdown in the Republican party." Trump's...

Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% condemned a recreational gun range that banned Muslims from their facility, during a presidential forum with Fox News host Megyn Kelly. One member of the audience asked Rubio about the incident, where a Muslim-American army reservist was denied access to the facility in Oklahoma, and asked for his reaction to the incident. "The story you just told me is wrong. It's immoral. We should not be doing that to people,""Rubio said. "The bottom line is there are millions of patriotic Muslim Americans." A lawsuit against the gun range was filed by 29-year-old Raja'ee Fatihah, a...

Several well-funded organizations -- including the League of Women Voters and the NAACP -- are fighting efforts to prevent non-citizens from voting illegally in the upcoming presidential election. And the United States Department of Justice, under the direction of Attorney General Loretta Lynch, is helping them. On February 12, these groups filed a lawsuit in D.C. federal court seeking to reverse a recent decision by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). The Commission's decision allows Kansas and other states, including Arizona and Georgia, to enforce state laws ensuring that only citizens register to vote when they use a federally designed...

Thomas Sowell has been an intellectual giant in the conservative movement for decades. Despite rarely making appearances in the media, the economist and author has managed to become a household name among conservatives... Senator Ted Cruz has been criticized in this column before, and will undoubtedly be criticized here again. But we can only make our choices among those actually available, and Senator Cruz is the one who comes to mind when depth and steadfastness come to mind.

Bernie Sanders said Sunday he thinks he can cut into his rival Hillary Clinton's lead among super delegates in the race for the Democratic nomination - a lead that allowed Clinton to salvage her substantial loss in New Hampshire's Democratic primary last week. "If we continue to do well around the country and if super delegates - whose main interest in life is to make sure that we do not have a Republican in the White House - if they understand that I am the candidate and I believe that I am who is best suited to defeat the Republican...

**SNIP** McGuire, whose state organization, like the national party apparatus, is solidly behind Clinton, rejected the request, telling the Register in an interview Tuesday, "These are the final results." Democrats have never released actual head counts in Iowa caucuses, and McGuire flatly said they would not be released this time either. On Thursday, the Register published an editorial headlined, "Something smells in the Democratic Party," denouncing state party officials for refusing to agree to an audit or release details of the voting. "What happened Monday night at the Democratic caucuses was a debacle, period," the Register wrote. "Democracy, particularly at...

I want to start with a few key facts, because they'll be important in a moment: 1. Among left-leaning female voters under the age of 45, Bernie Sanders holds a significant lead in the polls. 2. He's received far more donations from females than Hillary Clinton. 3. The results in Iowa showed that he won handily in the under-45 category, regardless of whether the voter was male or female. As it happens, there is absolutely a gap in support when it comes to Sanders and Clinton. But it's not a gender gap-it's an age gap. ....It's simple: Older people vote...

Is the power of the White House enough to get Pink Floyd back together for one more concert? The obvious answer to that question is "almost definitely not," but that isn't going to stop Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich from doing his level best to reunite the dormant group if he ends up winning the 2016 election. Kasich made his unexpected campaign pledge during a Feb. 1 interview with CNN... "...if I'm president," he decreed, "I am going to...try to reunite Pink Floyd..." First on Kasich's wish list for the reunion set: "Money," from 1973's Dark Side of the Moon.

I'm trying to figure out where all these Rubio supporters are coming from? Perhaps it's just me, but I don't know a single Rubio supporter? How does Rubio, who began campaigning 3 weeks ago in Iowa, who can't even get 100 people to show up to a single rally, generate this many votes? For the record, I've seen or known Trump, Cruz, Carson, Fiorina, Huckabee, Kasich, Hillary and Bernie. Please let me know if you even know 1 Rubio supporter. For the record it could be you saw one when you were out and about.

"Who you vote for is your secret," the letter, posted by some recipients on Twitter, says. "But whether or not you vote is public record. Many organizations monitor turnout in your neighborhood and are disappointed by the inconsistent voting of many of your neighbors." "We will be reviewing ... official voting records after the upcoming election to determine whether you joined your neighbors who voted in 2014," the mailer concludes. "If you do not vote this year, we will be interested to hear why not." So they aren't the only ones and this isn't new. In Alaska, voters have complained...
