Nine people were shot, two fatally, during a 30-minute time frame in Washington, DC, despite the district’s gun licensing requirement, “assault weapons” ban, and ban on “high capacity” magazines. WUSA9 reported that the incident occurred Thursday night, and consisted of “two men armed with AK-47 style weapons [firing] dozens of shots in the apartment courtyard on Columbia Road.” Gabby Giffords’ gun group, the Giffords Law Center, reported that in addition to an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, and licensing requirements, the district also has a 10-day waiting period for gun purchases, a purchase limit of one handgun...

But he escalated his rhetoric, saying an announcement citing San Francisco for environmental violations would come in the next week.

***SNIP*** "Your letter seeks federal dollars for California from hardworking American taxpayers but fails to admit that your State and local policies have played a major role in the current crisis," Sec. Carson wrote in a letter responding to the leaders. ***SNIP*** The letter also blames California's sanctuary policies, saying "illegal and inadmissible aliens are increasing housing demand and draining resources," and says the Trump administration is addressing the problem by improving border security to reduce drug use. "The Trump administration is doing its part," Carson writes in the final part of the letter. "California needs to address the obvious...

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency is looking to build a "state-of-the-art" "urban warfare" training facility that will include "hyper-realistic" simulations of homes, hotels and commercial buildings in Chicago and Arizona. In an acquisition form for the procurement of "hyper-realistic training devices" for a new training facility for its expanding Special Response Team (SRT) program, ICE outlined the details of plans for its new training center in a document published on the U.S. Federal Business Opportunities website. While ICE sought to redact the location of the new training facility in the document, it was not successful in doing so....

Two urban high-school girls perform extended in-class beating of their teacher. No word on the condition of the teacher, the current legal disposition of the perps, or even in what part of the country this happened. Many states like California under Obama undertook the position that certain ethnicities more frequently were expelled. They therefore undertook new legal measures assuring that perps of this type cannot be expelled for similar actions. Publik Skool teachurz and there relatives are encouraged to chime in regarding similar experiences and stories. How much would you have to be paid in order to put up with...

It's never a good sign for a city when starts to see its population contracting. But that seems to be New York Mayor Bill de Blasio's plan, trashing the few little islands of good public school education in the great city, in the name of socialized outcomes. He set up a commission of cronies and those cronies recommended what he wanted them to recommend - that New York's charter and competitive schools be shut down in the name of "equality." Now, every school is set to be equally bad. But the custodians will continue to draw $100,000 salaries. Kyle Smith at...

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) took aim at GOP Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) after the lawmaker said a weekend uptick in violence in the city proved that “gun control doesn’t work.” “60% of illegal firearms recovered in Chicago come from outside IL — mostly from states dominated by coward Republicans like you who refuse to enact commonsense gun legislation,” Lightfoot tweeted late Monday. “Keep our name out of your mouth.” Cruz Tweet: Gun control doesn’t work. Look at Chicago. Disarming law-abiding citizens isn’t the answer. Stopping violent criminals—prosecuting & getting them off the street—BEFORE they commit more violent crimes is...

Bill De Blasio: Merit Is Racist, So We Won’t Allow It In NYC Public Schools Merit is now racist, as far as Bill de Blasio’s School Diversity Advisory Group is concerned. His new plans are just the next step in active discrimination against hardworking students, for the sake of equal outcomes. Merit is now considered racist, as New York City Mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Bill de Blasio’s new education advisory committee suggests. A panel de Blasio appointed recently recommended ending selective merit-based programs in city public schools, even when no evidence supports the accusation of racial discrimination simply because...

For four years, Joe Robinson and Lance Woods ran the streets of Detroit. Robinson took the east side where he resided, and Woods had the west side. But they never ran together. They didn’t know each other. Though both lifelong Detroiters, their paths never crossed. Not in running, and not in their careers. Woods worked in youth development in the local school system while Robinson operated as a young, hip hip entrepreneur with his company APX Management, which works with up-and-coming rappers in the city. Yet both had a similar vision for their home and the African-American community: a running...

Critics and skeptics of President Trump were not very well going to listen to him when he warned about the perilous state the city of Baltimore was in, but perhaps they'll listen to actual Baltimore police officers. “California is being overrun by rodents – and without immediate emergency action by state and local government, we face significant economic costs and risk a public health crisis,” said Carl DeMaio, chairman of Reform California, at a news conference Tuesday at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles. DeMaio highlighted the findings of the group’s new report which cited an increase in the state’s homeless population, along with elimination of the most effective pest control tools, as “significant” factors on the ongoing crisis. The study surveyed nearly two dozen private pest control companies that operate throughout California and found all of...

Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for...your straws? Starting July 1, the nation's capital will officially be implementing arguably Draconian fines on restaurants and bar owners as D.C.'s government will be sending out the plastic Gestapo in full force to ensure that only biodegradable straws are handed out to customers. If you get caught handing out the newly ordained contraband so that your patrons can enjoy a vodka soda or a lemonade with ease, you better be ready to pay up some cold hard cash since you are contributing to pollution according to...

That South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg got waylaid by a group of Black Lives Matter protesters in his own hometown Friday following the fatal police shooting of an allegedly knife-wielding black man is testament to the fact that ideology and pandering will get you absolutely nowhere with these folks. Buttigieg, you see, is gay, as liberal as they come, and totally on board with every insane ‘social justice’ redistribution scheme these Marx-lovers could possibly dream up, but despite all that, he remains a white male in a position of leadership in a town where a white police officer shot a...

Richard A. Carranza, the city schools chancellor, insisted last week that the plan to eliminate the entrance exam that dictates admission into Stuyvesant High School and the city’s other top public high schools was gaining traction. “There’s some real momentum,” Mr. Carranza said at the State Capitol. Two days later, the bill died. The Legislature adjourned, having taken no action on the specialized school exam. The contentious bill divided many of New York’s families along racial lines: Black and Hispanic students have seen their numbers at the prized schools plummet over the last two decades, while some Asian families argued...
