'Five teenage girls who had shown an interest in going to Syria have been barred from travelling abroad by a judge at London's High Court. The girls - two aged 15 and three aged 16 - were made wards of court, removing their passports and banning them from leaving England and Wales. A DNA study of Britons has shown that genetically there is not a unique Celtic group of people in the UK. According to the data, those of Celtic ancestry in Scotland and Cornwall are more similar to the English than they are to other Celtic groups. The study also describes distinct genetic differences across the UK, which reflect regional identities. And it shows that the invading Anglo Saxons did not wipe out the Britons of 1,500 years ago, but mixed with them. A new genetic map of Britain shows that there has been little movement between areas of Britain which were former tribal kingdoms in Anglo-Saxon England. The Romans, Vikings and Normans may have ruled or invaded the British for hundreds of years, but they left barely a trace on our DNA, the first detailed study of the genetics of British people has revealed. Brussels- European leaders agreed on Friday to extend Greece's bailout for four months after weeks of terse negotiations.

The former head of the US central bank, Alan Greenspan, has predicted that Greece will have to leave the eurozone. He told the BBC he could not see who would be willing to put up more loans to bolster Greece's struggling economy. Greece wants to re-negotiate its bailout, but Mr Greenspan said "I don't think it will be resolved without Greece leaving the eurozone". A British couple made a shocking discovery a few days ago after buying bananas from their local grocery store. The bananas were infested with spiders. And not just any spiders. When a Brazilian Wandering Spider bites a man, its venom can cause a painful four-hour ****, and can even lead to death. The woman who bought the bananas recognized the spider cocoon and put the bananas into her freezer to kill all the spiders.

Doing research for a novel. Can anybody tell me, what section of London would the families of merchantmen sailors have lived in during the late 17th century? All I can find on-line is "London." But I've got to believe that they lived relatively close to the docks in areas with specific names. And I suppose officers would live in a different section than that of common sailors.
