A Yuba City Unified School District administrator and career educator was arrested and accused of molesting a teenage boy, police said Wednesday. Derek Earl Link, 46, of the 600 block of Hughes Avenue, Yuba City, was arrested Tuesday night at the Police Department on a Sutter County warrant charging 13 felony counts, including sodomy, oral copulation with a victim under 14 and lewd acts with a victim under 14. A Knox County grand jury has indicted longtime Oak Ridge union leader Carl "Bubba" Scarbrough on two counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery involving a teenage boy. The indictment made public today charges Scarbrough, 63, with forcing the teenager to "sexually penetrate" him and have "sexual contact" with the boy. OAKLAND - A November trial has been scheduled for Tanda Rucker, the former Encinal High School basketball coach and East Bay prep star, who is charged with 26 felony counts of unlawful sex with four teenage girls. Today, Judge Thomas Reardon set a Nov. 7 trial date for Rucker, 31, who is free on bail. Rucker was a standout basketball player at Berkeley High School who later played two seasons at Stanford. OAK RIDGE - A special meeting of union delegates will be held today to discuss leadership of the Atomic Trades and Labor Council in the wake of Carl "Bubba" Scarbrough's arrest last week on a rape charge. OAK RIDGE — Union leader Carl "Bubba" Scarbrough’s access to the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant has been suspended, following his arrest last week on a rape charge, a plant spokesman said today. Bill Wilburn of BWXT, the contractor that manages Y-12 for the federal government, declined comment on Scarbrough’s arrest. WFTS-TV Channel 28 in Tampa Bay reports that two Kerry supporters was arrested at a rally featuring John Edwards this afternoon. The arrests occured after a female Kerry supporter attempted to tear a sign away from a non-supporter at the rally. The second arrest resulted from a male memeber of the audience interfering with the arrest.

I think liberal talk show host Brian Whitman was just as surprised as was I. Although a liberal, Brian is a pretty stand up guy. We actually agree on more things than I thought we did when I first heard him. He is a great supporter of our troops and has avoided bashing the commander in chief during time of war.
