Our account and its accompanying gallery of private pilot Gabriel Zeifman's somewhat astonishing flight through the usually highly restricted Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), which includes shadowy bases like Area 51 and Tonopah Test Range Airport, and the Nevada Test Site, where hundreds of nuclear weapons were tested, drew fascination from readers all over the globe. Now Gabriel has shared additional images of his adventures over the NTTR that are pretty spectacular in their own right and they include the best photos I have seen of a very popular location in UFO lore, Papoose Lake. Located just to the...

Some people have noticed an odd shape, sort of a cross inside a circle, entering the field-of-view of the HI2 telescope on STEREO Ahead around February 20,2020. Eventually there is a cone shape that appears next to it. You can see the feature in question in this movie moving from right-to-left, just below the trapezoidal occulter on the right side of the image. The answer lies on the exact opposite side of the image. At the same time as this strange-looking feature starts being visible, the very bright planet Venus enters the HI2-A field-of-view from the left. Notice that Venus...

For centuries, people have reported seeing all manner of weird and wonderful monsters. Sometimes, their accounts are so similar, it makes you wonder if it might not have been a trick of the light or their imagination playing tricks on themFrightening and bizarre monsters have been encountered by mankind for hundreds of years. At least that's according to the thousands who claim to have seen them up close and personal, in the flesh. Among the creatures spotted by humans over the past few centuries are giant ape-like beasts and giant crawling insects many times bigger than humans. And, despite evidence...

The White House can't get its broad immigration proposal moving, so officials are pursuing a narrow deal that would please the business community but might go against the president's campaign promise to reduce overall immigration. In recent months, the administration has been in talks with senators about legislation that would create new categories of temporary worker visas or lengthen the allotted stays for those workers, among other possible changes, according to four people familiar with the discussions. A White House official confirmed the ongoing negotiations on the guest worker proposal and said the effort is an attempt to generate action...

Airline pilots see plenty of weird things while flying passengers from one place to another, but most of it occurs in the plane's cabin. However, what one pilot spotted outside of his plane has a lot of people talking. His name is Cesar and he flies Airbus A320s for Viva Air, a low-cost Colombian airline. While soaring over Medellin recently, Cesar saw a strange craft and decided to film it. He then shared the footage on TikTok. Skeptics claim it is just a weather balloon and isn't even moving - it just looks to be speeding along because of the...

The XQ-5A Valkyrie on a 2019 test flight AFRL ____________________________________________________________________ The jet-powered XQ-58A Valkyrie demonstrator drone has returned to the air three months after being damaged in a landing mishap. On January 23, the unmanned aircraft being developed by the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Kratos Defense & Security Solutions completed its fourth flight test at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona. The fourth in a planned schedule of five flights, the most recent test was designed to push the performance envelope of the Valkyrie. In particular, the flight took the drone to its highest altitude yet as engineers collected...

A new exoplanet only 4.2 light years away would prove that there's plenty left to discover in our own cosmic backyard. Scientists have found evidence of a new exoplanet candidate orbiting our closest stellar neighbor, Proxima Centauri. This exoplanet candidate, Proxima c, likely has a mass six times that of Earth. But it's unlikely that life would survive on the planet, given its frigid temperatures. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The red dwarf star Proxima Centauri is our closest stellar neighbor; the star system is a measly 4.2 light years from Earth and can be seen with the naked eye. Because of this proximity,...

The newly created United States Space Force has new uniforms to match. The unit's official Twitter account posted a picture of the new "U.S. Space Force" nameplate and "United States Space Command" patch and said the uniforms had "touched down in the Pentagon." The US Space Force has been in the works of President Donald Trump's administration since March 2018, and it was officially created alongside the US Space Command when the president signed the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act on December 20. **SNIP** "Space Force" trended on Twitter after the Department of Defense debuted the new uniforms, with many...

SpaceX has launched 60 more mini internet satellites, this time testing a dark coating to appease stargazers. It is a “first step” compromise between SpaceX and astronomers fearful of having dark skies spoiled by hundreds and, eventually, thousands of bright satellites circling overhead. The Falcon 9 rocket blasted into a cold, clear night sky, recycled by SpaceX for its fourth flight. As the first-stage booster flew to a vertical landing on an ocean platform, the Starlink satellites continued hurtling towards orbit to join 120 similar spacecraft launched last year. Flight controllers applauded and the launch commentator described the booster’s fourth...

During a recent interview with CNN, Mallett, who is a respected physics professor, claimed that he had written a scientific equation that could serve as the basis for time travel - a concept that he became obsessed with as a young boy after reading The Time Machine by author H.G. Wells. It's a goal that he has been pursuing for most of his life and although the 74-year-old admits that he is unlikely to see time travel became a reality during his lifetime, there's a chance that his efforts will have contributed in no small part to the creation of...

Barone captured the bright object in about a six-minute video in what he shared on his social media accounts. The video has inspired several comments in just the first few hours of the post, with many sharing their explanations of what they think was caught on This video comes just a few months after unusual lights were seen above Henderson in what turned out to be a parachute team for pregame festivities at Sam Boyd Stadium.

A few minutes ago a strange, perfectly straight line of about 30 bright lights was visible moving across southern Wisconsin from the southwest to the northeast. They would appear just over the horizon and disappear as they came overhead. It was initially a quite shocking sight so Freepers might want to be on the lookout for them and know what they are before they first see them. These were the 60 or so SpaceX Starlink satellites orbiting at an altitude of 174 miles. They can be tracked using websites (https://www.satflare.com/track.asp?q=starlink and http://stuffin.space). They are visible only under clear skies shortly...

HERSHEY, Pa. (WJW) — Santa's reindeer have been cleared for takeoff! Pennsylvania's Secretary of Agriculture, Russell Redding, and State Veterinarian, Dr. Kevin Brightbill, met with Santa Claus and his nine reindeer at Hersheypark Christmas Candylane on Thursday to announce that they've received a clean bill of health and can fly on December 24. The reindeer, answering to the names of Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen, and Rudolph received clearance to fly from Alaska’s state veterinarian. “Not everyone knows what takes place behind the scenes to allow Santa and his nine reindeer to take flight on Christmas Eve,”...

The base is known to be the shadowy home of aircraft that move from a developmental state at Area 51 and into an operational, but still secretive one. Tonopah Test Range Airport, located along the northern edge of the sprawling Nevada Test and Training Range, may not get all the pop culture attention that nearby Area 51 gets, but in many ways, it is just as fascinating. It was born out of a program that saw American fighter pilots secretly flying captured MiGs against their fellow aviators. Not long after that program spun-up, the remote installation was greatly expanded to...

Mysterious lights hovering above the east Valley have many wondering if we've had a close encounter. The couple says they spotted the phenomenon outside their Mesa home on Sunday around nine that night. They say the object seemed to come from the southeast. The object captured on two cell phones looks like a bright orb hovering silently in the sky. Every few moments, the object appears to drop what looks to be flares towards the ground. ABC15 reached out to several aviation experts who theorized the lights seen Sunday could be from parachute flares used by the military or even...

For a little NASA spacecraft, the weather outside is frightful. The Parker Solar Probe is on a mission toward the sun. The spacecraft has been exposed to scorching temperatures and intense sunlight as it draws closer with every loop around. Eventually, Parker will glide through the star’s outer atmosphere and feel the toastiness of nearly 2 million degrees Fahrenheit (more than 1 million degrees Celsius). Parker is dressed appropriately for the journey. It wears a thick, custom-made shield to protect its scientific instruments and systems, and tubes with flowing water to cool itself down. Inside, it is a cozy 78...
