  • 'Sorry, That Page Doesn't Exist': Trump's Personal Twitter Briefly Goes Down

    NBC Los Angeles ^ | November 2, 2017
For a short time Thursday evening, Twitter appeared to lose one of its most avid users: The page for the @realDonaldTrump account displayed an error message. Twitter's standard error message, "Sorry, that page doesn't exist!" appeared in place of President Donald Trump's personal Twitter feed. A short time later, the account page reappeared and seemed to be functioning as normal. According to NBC News, the White House had no immediate comment. In May 2009, Trump, then a private businessman, sent his first tweet promoting a forthcoming appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the BBC reported.

RUSH: There is also continuing testimony, which nobody is hearing about up on Capitol Hill, by the lawyers for the tech companies, Google and Facebook. In addition to what was learned yesterday that we passed on to you, the Facebook lawyer said that the Russian involvement, the buying of ads on Facebook, that happened after the election and it was oriented toward damaging Trump. The ads that ran on Facebook happened after the election, and their purpose was to do great damage to Trump after he won, the exact opposite of what people have been told that Trump colluded with...

Lawyers representing Facebook and Twitter revealed that Russian groups on their social networks tried to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency after the election. Politico reports that lawyers from Facebook and Twitter told a Senate Judiciary panel on Tuesday that Russian-linked agents on their social networks following election day in November 2016 attempted to undermine President Trump’s victory. Facebook general counsel Colin Stretch outlined to the Senate Judiciary panel how a Russian trolling group known as the Internet Research Agency generated content after November 8th focusing on “fomenting discord about the validity of [Trump’s] election.”
  • Twitter Buried ‘Podesta Email’ Tweets

As per Twitter’s general Counsel Sean Edgett written testimony to the US Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, the social media giant’s algorithms colluded (pun intended) with Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016 in a big way. In layman’s terms, Twitter’s systems were tweaked to help Hillary win the election by burying almost half (48 percent) of the tweets that were made under the #DNCLeak hashtag and a quarter of tweets using the #PodestaEmails hashtag. Basically, Twitter tried to censor/alter the news cycle on its platform by hiding large portions of tweets regarding the hacked-emails-scandal which concerned the Clinton Campaign, the Democratic...

All this time, the Democrats and their media pushed the narrative that Russia promoted Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in the last presidential election. But it turns out, by their own admission, Facebook ran ads that, if anything, triggered sore-loser liberals into disputing the legitimacy of the election of Donald J. Trump and we all know what's happened since.

Twitter buried significant portions of tweets related to hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign chair John Podesta in the last two months of the 2016 presidential campaign. Twitter’s systems hid 48 percent of tweets using the #DNCLeak hashtag and 25 percent of tweets using #PodestaEmails, Twitter general counsel Sean Edgett said in his written testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. “Approximately one quarter (25%) of [#PodestaEmails tweets] received internal tags from our automation detection systems that hid them from searches,” Edgett said. He added that “our systems detected and hid just under half (48%)...

In the absence of rigorous antitrust enforcement, the consumer internet has become too concentrated in a few dominant companies, creating easy targets for bad actors. There is a reason Congress did not have to investigate foreign meddling after the 2008 or 2012 elections. Back then the internet was still a diverse, decentralized network...This older form of online community building has largely been supplanted by tools provided by the dominant players... Google used to be the engine that drove the open web... Over time, Google’s philosophy shifted [to] making the internet less open and pluralistic than even a few years ago...Facebook’s...

Top lawyers from Facebook and Twitter said Tuesday that Russian-linked posts and advertisements placed on the social networks after Election Day sought to sow doubt about President Donald Trump's victory. Facebook general counsel Colin Stretch told a Senate Judiciary panel that content generated by a Russian troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency after Nov. 8 centered on “fomenting discord about the validity of [Trump’s] election.” That's a change from Russia's pre-election activity, which was largely centered on trying to denigrate Hillary Clinton, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said in a January report. “During the election,...

US President Donald Trump has launched a Twitter tirade about the "guilt" of Hillary Clinton and the opposition Democratic Party. His Sunday morning outburst came amid reports that the first arrest in the Russian collusion inquiry would be made this week, possibly as early as Monday. Mr Trump insisted allegations of collusion between his campaign and Russia were "phony" and a "witch hunt". He said Republicans were united behind him, before urging: "DO SOMETHING!"

Longtime Trump ally, former aide to President Nixon and veteran political lobbyist Roger Stone was banned from Twitter this evening after he branded a number of CNN anchors “fake news.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, the ban is permanent. Prior to his ban, Stone had tweeted at CNN’s Don Lemon, calling him a “lying c**ksucker” and “fake news,” urging him to “stop lying about the Clintons and uranium.” He also tweeted at Jake Tapper, calling on the CNN host to be “held accountable for his lies” and “very severely punished.”

Representatives from Google, Facebook and Twitter are all slated to testify before a Senate Judiciary panel on Tuesday, the day before company officials are set to appear in a pair of highly-anticipated intelligence hearings. Tuesday’s hearing is before Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C.) subcommittee on crime and terrorism and will focus on how to combat extremist and Russian propaganda online, his office announced on Friday. Facebook and Twitter will be represented by their general counsels, while Google will send its director of law enforcement and information security. On Wednesday, the general counsels for all three companies are scheduled to testify in...

According to Twitter’s CEO official announcement on Thursday via a blog post, the US social media giant took the decision to ban the Kremlin-backed news outlets Sputnik and RT from advertising on their platform. Twitter’s move on Thursday makes for one of the most aggressive decisions ever made by a US social media company against news outlets which are claimed by various intelligence officials to be linked with Kremlin’s efforts to meddle with the 2016 presidential election. It’s interesting to notice that RT, also known formally as Russia Today, is currently being squeezed by US officials to register as a...

While trying not to indulge in schadenfreude over those hypocritical Hollywood elites who've claimed to stand for "women's rights," only to be accused of sexually harassing them, I noticed "(hashtag)MeToo" trending on Twitter. At (hashtag)MeToo, women who have been sexually harassed are invited to post their experiences, and many have done so, including four female U.S. senators. I asked my adult daughter and oldest granddaughter if they had ever encountered sexual harassment. My daughter said at a previous job her boss "invited" her to sit on his lap. She refused and no longer works there. Even more shocking was the...

Former FBI Director James Comey, who has cultivated a low public profile since his surprise firing last May, confirmed Monday that he is the author of a Twitter account that was previously anonymous — and signaled that he is going to rejoin the national conversation. Because people are tending to listen to the extreme left-wing liberal media instead of listening to what Trump says and does, here are his official sources where he posts his personal comments and official presidential actions. If you want to know what Trump says, then all you need to do is read his tweets. No Twitter account is needed. Trump Twitter Account For his official presidential actions, go to the following Presidential Action web page that is posted by the Whitehouse. It has his executive orders, memoranda, and proclamations. Presidential Actions DO NOT listen to the liberal media claiming anything....

As a trained hypnotist and a lifelong student of persuasion, I’m often impressed by how much “work” President Trump gets out of his tweets. Most of them are harmless retweets about whatever is going right, and they tend to be forgettable. The good ones are something entirely different, and many are gems of persuasion. Consider this one: “With Jemele Hill at the mike, it is no wonder ESPN ratings have ‘tanked,’ in fact, tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry!”When Mr. Trump smack-tweets a notable public critic—Ms. Hill has called the president a “white supremacist”—it violates our...
