Veteran TV newsman and former University of Alabama football player Christopher Sign died Saturday morning in an apparent suicide, according to police. At 8:13 a.m. Saturday, the Hoover 911 center received a call of a person down at a residence on Scout Trace. Hoover police and fire personnel arrived to find the 45-year-old Sign dead. Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba said the death is being investigated as a suicide. A woman in Las Vegas was arrested after she was found naked and passed out in her car. It turns out, the woman was Feven Kiflegiorgis, Fox 5 Las Vegas’ morning weekday anchor. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Kiflegiorgis, who is known as Feven Kay, was busted nude and asleep behind the wheel of her Audi at about 7:30 a.m. March 20. Kiflegiorgis said she could not remember how she got to the location where she was found. The report didn’t explain why she was fully naked either.

In March, a white award-winning broadcast news anchor in Pittsburgh posted on her professional Facebook page what she claimed was a heartfelt call to action on the perceived black-on-black crime epidemic in the United States, particularly in the city she’d covered for almost 20 years. The post came two weeks after she covered a mass shooting at a backyard barbecue that left four people injured and six dead, including a pregnant woman, in Wilkinsburg, a majority black borough. The district attorney called the heinous crime calculated, planned and one of the “most brutal” he had seen in his 18-year tenure.
