Jim DeFede, an investigative reporter for CBS-owned Miami station WFOR, publicly questioned a rival station’s push to end express lanes in south Florida. ABC affiliate WPLG has made no secret of its support in eliminating the lanes. It mentions the campaign in its newscasts and has posted and aired an editorial from GM Bert Medina. The station also encourages readers and viewers to sign a petition that “demands our lawmakers do away with express lanes. Yesterday, DeFede tweeted out,”Is WPLG really running commercials and using its website to pimp anti-express lanes petition? #FakeJournalism” “WPLG has a rich history of airing...

Last night when I saw and read about this 25 year old black girl who wore a PRO-TRUMP dress to the Grammy's, my mind began to wonder if she was a sincere fan. Then I saw the designer of the dress was a pro-Trump immigrant. So I went to Amazon and checked Joy Villa's album. "I Make the Static" was something like #2,300 on the charts. I decided to buy it. I was not alone. As of 6:30 am Central time, she is #1

‘Homeland,’ Season 6 Review: A Politically Correct Carrie Gone is the series’ original vitality, replaced with predictable politeness. By Dorothy Rabinowitz Jan. 12, 2017 6:00 p.m. ET 48 COMMENTS It’s a far from familiar Carrie, bipolar scourge of terrorists, who shows up in season 6 of “Homeland,’’ set in that destination strivers around the world dream of living in—namely, Brooklyn. She’s there having abandoned any further service to the CIA, because—she makes clear in the show’s opening episodes—she’s become increasingly dismayed by America’s policies in the Middle East. Not to mention at home, where she’s appalled to discover that the...

Just as I suspected would happen, President-Elect Donald Trump took to twitter to brag about his Apprentice ratings. “Wow, the ratings are in,” he tweeted, “and Arnold Schwarzenegger got “swamped” (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine DJT. So much for…being a movie star-and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary” Donald J. The Scarecrow isn't a scarecrow, but he is introduced in a crucifixion pose. The tin man isn't The Tin Man, either, but he is the result of a horrifying, Frankenstein-style experiment. The lions aren't cowardly--the citizens of Oz speak of them as if they'll tear your throat out. The Munchkins have swapped out dandy fashions for tribal facepaint. The Wicked Witch Of The West runs a brothel. Welcome to Emerald City, the dark reimagining of L. Frank Baum's Oz stories that debuts on NBC after a nearly three-and-a-half-year trek down the yellow-brick development road.

NEW YORK (AP) — MSNBC says it has hired former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren to host a daily, Washington-based news program at the dinner hour. Just like Tucker Carlson, who Fox named as Megyn Kelly’s prime-time replacement on Thursday, Van Susteren completes the cable news hat trick: hosting shows on CNN, Fox and MSNBC. Her show will air at 6 p.m. ET.

LG has unveiled an array of devices to make smart homes even smarter - including a radical ultrathin TV than can be hung on the wall with magnets. The ultrathin LG Signature OLED W television is just just 2.57mm thin in the 65-inch model, and mounts seamlessly to the wall to create the experience of ‘looking through a window into another world.’ The company is set to market the device, which as yet has no price or release date, as a 'wallpaper' TV. To avoid cables, it has a single cable that runs to a sound bar, which has all...

Buttons needs freeper advice! I've never owned a tv, but I'm now looking to buy one. The choices are bewildering. I don't have or want cable, just a large screen (at least 40", and 70" is not too big). I watch a lot of videos on a laptop and with a large screen I could be less confined. The room is big, over 25' wide and long. Price isn't that important, quality is more of a concern. And which kind is best to view at different angles? It'd be good to see it properly no matter where in the room...

I just put up a new Christmas carol for a military music video - "Camouflage and Christmas Lights," from Duck the Halls for NCIS and NCIS-LA. It's for my nephew Philip, a proud marine who loves military shows. There's also an older military one - "Toy Soldier," by Enya for JAG. In all, there are 89 Christmas carol music videos up on my site from TV shows and from footage I've shot myself in local churches and around town. I love this season! All videos need to be downloaded and unzipped to play. We play them with VLC. They're in...

"I watch you. I believe you actually don't want to do damage," Beck told Bee. "As a guy who has done damage, I don't want to do anymore damage." Samantha Bee invited Glenn Beck on Full Frontal in an effort to reach across the aisle, wear Christmas sweaters and get to know somebody with a completely different audience than her own. "Glenn and I put on our Christmas sweaters and got to work on healing the nation," said Bee in her introduction, where she talked about how Beck has recently been reaching out to the media to "apologize for his...

Trevor Noah seems to be on borrowed time at Comedy Central. The man who replaced Jon Stewart as host of “The Daily Show” on Sept. 28, 2015, has seen half the show’s audience disappear in a year. Having started off with more than 1 million viewers, Noah has slipped to 810,000, compared to the 1.9 million viewers Stewart had before he went off the air in August 2015.

The long-awaited 2016 election day is finally here, and it could be a historic one for a number of different reasons. The United States could elect its first female president Hillary Clinton; Republicans could take back the White House with Donald Trump after two terms of Democratic control; there could be record voter turnout and the leading campaign election night parties will both be in New York.

  • Bah Humbug! Why Are Most Christmas TV Specials So Bad?

You know it from the first few notes of Thurl Ravenscroft's barrel-chested performance — singing "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" with the same flair he brought to playing Tony the Tiger in Kellogg's cereal commercials — Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a holiday classic. The animated film turns 50 this year, airing on NBC about three weeks before its actual birthday. And it is, admittedly, a little weird to call a 26-minute cartoon about a green guy who learns not to steal Christmas presents an enduring masterpiece. But The Grinch, which CBS debuted on Dec. 18,...

France has banned the faces of smiling children from television. Why? Picture the face of a smiling child. What thoughts come to mind? Innocence? Joy? Love? What could be more beautiful? The image of a smiling child should give us hope, should stir us — should be a reminder that we're all made in the image of God. Even, and perhaps especially, the smile of a child with Down syndrome. A couple of years ago, to mark World Down Syndrome Day, the Italian advocacy organization CoorDown released a touching video featuring children with Down syndrome. It's titled "Dear Future Mom."...
