    WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Sean Doolittle and Eireann Dolan almost wore nearly identical shoes to a photo shoot last week. Most major league players don’t argue with their wife over who gets to wear Birkenstocks that day. Most major league players wouldn’t have their local paper requesting a photo shoot to accompany a story about their work with Syrian refugees or LGBT pride night or an op-ed they wrote about veterans’ issues. Doolittle and Dolan are not most major league couples. In a sport with a conservative culture defined by tradition and a near-dogmatic acceptance of the social status...
  • Ted Cruz says Mueller right choice to lead Russia investigation [5-19, 2017]

    Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday praised the choice of Robert Mueller to lead the investigation into whether President Trump's campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential elections. "I don't think it was necessary to appoint a special counsel," Cruz said. "But the Department of Justice made the decision to do that. If they are going to appoint a special counsel, Bob Mueller is an excellent choice." Cruz said Mueller, a former FBI director with a sterling reputation, would conduct a fair investigation.

    Republicans are learning an uncomfortable reality about the political environment for 2018: Tax cuts, conservative culture-war staples, and even Nancy Pelosi herself probably won’t be enough to overcome the deep hole that President Trump has put them in. With the White House awash in scandal and struggling to articulate its agenda, the political mood has turned so grim that Republicans are in danger of losing an upcoming special election in the heart of Trump country. That’s the lesson to draw from the surprisingly competitive campaign Democrat Conor Lamb is running in a Pittsburgh-area district Trump easily carried by 20 points,...
  • (IS DACA) Donald Trump’s “Read My Lips” Moment? (YES)

    01/10/2018 11:53:22 AM PST · by Cubs Fan · 154 replies
    The Democrats well remember their success in baiting George H. Bush into alienating his base by persuading him to renege on his campaign pledge: “Read my lips … no new taxes!” Well the new taxes came, the already suspicious base could no longer rationalize to themselves that Bush would continue the Reagan legacy, and Bush was a single-term President. His successor being none other than Bill Clinton. If granting amnesty to illegal aliens — who are trespassers in this land — does not equate to a “read my lips” level betrayal, it’s hard to imagine what would be. The White...

    The “internet poll” has become a familiar device with which to solicit reader feedback and drive engagement on topics from sports and entertainment to law and politics. But, with obvious flaws in polling methodology (e.g., random sampling, representative samples), not to mention vulnerability to fraud, the results of such polls carry little if any scientific value. They are a marketing tool only; except, it seems, when it comes to formulating federal regulations.Providing a public comment period before federal regulations can be finalized is a legal and long-standing component of federal rulemaking. Typically the window for public comments is 30 to...

    Francis Ends Celibacy Pope Francis has placed a request for Brazilian priests to be allowed to marry on the agenda of a forthcoming Synod on the Amazon region, Vatican sources told Il Messaggero. From the beginning it was clear that the Amazon Synod is only a pretext. With the usual single-case tactic Francis took the decision to put a "partial lifting" of priestly celibacy up for discussion and a possible vote by Brazilian bishops. It followed a request by Modernist Cardinal Claudio Hummes who asked Francis to consider ordaining married men. This means that Francis will again prefer an unthought...

    First Lady Melania Trump defied many of her fashion critics in Hollywood and the mainstream media by sporting snakeskin pumps as she boarded Air Force One Saturday on a flight to hurricane-ravaged Texas. The New York Post reports that she chose to wear snakeskin Manolo Blahnik pumps as she accompanied her husband on a second visit to the areas in Texas hit by Hurricane Harvey, this time to meet with the victims of the storm. President Trump faced a lot of criticism during his first visit to the disaster area because he spent his time meeting with state and local...

    Conspiracy theorist and founder of media outlet InfoWars Alex Jones came under fire Thursday night after he shared a video that claims Michelle Obama is a man. The video was posted to Jones' website, InfoWars, after the 43-year-old claimed during his podcast that it provided "proof" that Obama was a man. Jones pointed to photos of the former first lady wearing pants or skirts that crease, saying they show a "large bulge inside her pants," and claimed that late comedian Joan Rivers' 2014 comment calling Obama a "tranny" is proof his theory is right. "Since the early days of the...
  • Plausible deniability: The drug that President Trump can’t stop abusing (Compost projecting again)

    Plausible deniability is a politician’s best friend. It’s something politicians seek to maintain in all circumstances by giving vanilla statements that offer future wiggle room. For President Trump, though, plausible deniability is a way of life. The ability to pretend he didn’t actually say what he seems to have just said is something Trump has weaponized and exploited. It’s something he wields against his opponents in an effort to constantly muddy the waters and rally his supporters against a common enemy. The controversy in recent days over Trump’s tweets shows exactly what he’s doing: He is constantly trolling by saying...

    Smirnoff Vodka has taken trolling to a whole new level in an ad mocking the alleged Trump-Russia controversy. Mincing no words when it comes to lukewarm replacement plans that would keep most of the disastrous 2009 law in place, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas (A, 97%) called out Obamacare-lite replacement plans at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday. “There are some Senate Republicans who would like to keep the Obamacare taxes because they want to spend money,” the senator said in a closed-door meeting with reporters at CPAC. “That would be exceptionally foolish.” “I don’t think we should replace one 2,000-page monstrosity with another 2,000-page monstrosity,” Cruz said, in discussion of the current struggle to repeal the...

    Congress should use every tool at its disposal to rein in activist federal courts, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas (A, 97%) said in a closed-door meeting with reporters at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. And this includes limiting their jurisdiction with federal legislation, Cruz stated. Don't Miss A Tweet Profile Picture Conservative Review @CR Follow In the last congressional session, Sen. Cruz introduced a bill that would have limited the jurisdiction of federal court on marriage. When asked about similar legislation, the senator reiterated his unapologetically bold thoughts on the subject of judicial overreach. “We should be using all...

    Sen. Ted Cruz, R- Texas (A, 97%) is encouraging the Trump administration to uncover the Obama White House’s secret dealings — as part of the former president’s nuclear agreement — with the Islamic Republic of Iran. “The Iran nuclear deal was a catastrophic failure. I believe it weakened and endangered America, and will only serve to facilitate Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon,” Senator Cruz said at a reporters’ roundtable on the sidelines of the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. He added: “Many of the details of that agreement were hidden by the Obama administration because they were indefensible.” {..snip..}

I jokingly sent him a Facebook message telling him to hang in there, because I would hire him. I was just trolling the idiot because of what he did to himself in losing his job. He sent me his resume over Facebook and I now feel bad fir trolling him because he's in difficult straits.
