Did the August town hall protests have an effect on Congress? Enough so that at least one Blue Dog Democrat admitted it convinced him to oppose the public option in the health-care overhaul bill. Rep. Mike Ross (D-AR) announced his opposition this morning, crediting his constituents for his moment of clarification: Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), the Blue Dog congressman who battled with Democratic Party leaders for much of July before reaching an agreement on health-care reform legislation, said Tuesday that he could no longer back the government-insurance option included in the bill he voted for before the congressional recess. “I...

When Obama speaks on Health Care Reform tonight, he is not speaking to regular Americans. He knows he has angered regular Joes. He knows he won’t convince very many, if any people to his position. But that doesn’t seem to faze the president, who is focused on passing Health Care Reform regardless of the cost. As Obama’s poll numbers continue a major slide downward, the president will address our nation tonight in an effort to convince enough Democrats in the U.S. House and Senate to vote for Health Care Reform, even if their constituents have expressed their opposition to it....

A congressman from the Indiana 9th district named Baron Hill had a major league arrogant temper tantrum on camera last Saturday which has become a big hit in the blogosphere with over 100,000 viewers on YouTube. So one would figure that the local Bloomington newspaper, the Herald Times, would cover it, right? Wrong. Amazingly the most interesting thing that has happened in Bloomington in at least a year has been studiously avoided by that newspaper. Here is the scene as described by the American Thinker:It is not just the career safe seat members of Congress and the Senate who are...

It is not just the career safe seat members of Congress and the Senate who are vulnerable to getting caught up in the arrogance and elitism of power. Relative back bencher Baron Hill from Indiana's 9th District might well have surged into the lead in the contest to see which member of congress had the most out of touch and arrogant attitude during the town hall meetings. You have to watch this video to believe it. It starts right after he has announced that there will be no videos allowed and goes into question and answer. The first question is...

A rising chorus of discontent – more a citizens uprising – shows Middle America’s deep suspicion of President Obama’s health care reform proposal. Average citizens have voiced their disapproval at townhall meetings hosted by Sen. Arlen Specter and HHS Director Kathleen Sebelius, Rep. Lloyd Doggett, Rep. Tim Bishop, and staffers of Sen. Claire McCaskill. In a burst of passion-envy, Chris Matthews asked on Monday night’s Hardball, “Where the Hell are the people who want health care, the poor people out there…the union people? Where are they? I haven’t seen one placard, let alone one protest demonstration, for health care.” In...

Remember Elston McCowan? He’s one of the SEIU purple shirted thugs who were arrested for beating a Black conservative for daring to protest Obamacare outside a town hall meeting featuring Democrat Congressman Russ Carnahan. It turns out McCowan actually had the nerve to ask for Workman’s Compensation payments because he is “injured” and unable to “work.” Missouri had the good sense to tell this deadbeat to get lost, but moochers like McCowan don’t discourage easily when something for nothing is at stake. He has applied to the SEIU to pay him, thereby acknowledging he was there and committed this assault...

This is a video of an old man (the likes of which actually built this country) at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire. From what I understand, the old guy asked if the people in front of him were even from NH- he implied the congresswoman packed the small venue with supporters/friends. He is then dragged away by guys in black- what uniforms are the officers wearing?

Needless to say, afte this video floats around a bit, Baron Hill will not be running "his" congressional office much longer. Nor will he be able to congratulate himself about what a benefocent leader he is for allowing his constituents to attend "his" townhall meetings. Seriously, guys it's just too good to be true.

This has been the summer of the town hall meeting trolls. This Astroturf movement has been whipping up hysteria -- warning that health care reform is the first step in Obama's master plan to set up a socialist government. These right-wing nutjobs have a vendetta against Obama, they depict the president as a socialist who is against Mom, apple pie and democracy. Obama is a wonky intellectual who speaks in calm and measured tones, and I find it difficult to understand how anybody could possibly mistake him for a dangerous radical. But I guess I'm not a racist who sees...

The revolt keeps growing, from tea parties to angry town hall meetings across the country, an uprising against the attempts of an elite to force on us an all-powerful State, about as welcome as grandma's cod-liver oil. Examples of revolt go beyond irate callers to radio talk shows. Take for instance the incident at a Frankie Valli concert recently posted on American Thinker, and the disgust and anger in Joe Sheffat's article. Sen. Barbara Boxer encountered it, as did Sen. Claire McCaskill, who made the mistake of asking if she was trusted. The elite seem unable to comprehend that anyone...

Oath Keepers will be conducting a rally and ceremony in Washington DC on September 12. And they have a special guest: "Stewart Rhodes has invited David Hedrick to come to the 9-12 DC march as part of the Oath Keepers contingent, and to be a speaker at our dinner that same night, and David has accepted the invitation. We consider David’s action in calling out Congressman Baird on the violation of his oath to be an example of what needs to be done. Oaths should mean something, and when a public servant has violated his oath of office, he should...

Here is a collection of video footage taken over the past week or so. There were a lot of other events that took place. Vic Snyder didn't allow any media during his townhall debate, so the internet is the only place you will see footage of that event. The person I am speaking of, Catherine Bragg, pops up at about 2:15 of the video and she provides the perfect capper to the town hall season.

Ventura County Sheriff’s authorities released a recording of the 9-1-1 call made after a Newbury Park man had part of his left little finger bitten off during a pro-healthcare-reform rally in Thousand Oaks this week. The recording, which is posted on the Ventura County Star’s Web site, has Scott Bush telling the 9-1-1 dispatcher that there has been a fight. Bush was standing with William Rice, whose left pinky was bit off near the second knuckle during a scuffle. “A gentleman’s finger has been bitten off, and I have the finger wrapped up in a napkin,” Bush said. He said...

Our president seems to believe himself more King than elected representative. Barack Obama has shown himself to be as despotic as George III through overly harsh taxation and forcing his will on the people. Like George used the Parliament, Obama is using Congress to assert his supremacy in a socialist empire. Now, Obama is inciting coercion by advising his followers to fight "Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists," which is anyone who disagrees with his proposed healthcare policy. On Patriot Day, one would "hope" that our President would encourage us to respectfully remember the victims of September 11, 2001, honor our brave soldiers...

When I received my invitation in the mail from Jim Moran himself that mentioned his Health Care Town Hall would include special guest Howard Dean I knew I had to go. I wanted to get front and center, which meant taking a 1/2 day from work to get there early. Doors were scheduled to open at 6:00, and Ron, our local Tea Party organizer alerted us that Moran was bringing in tons of his troops to fill the rafters with "be there by 5:00" marching orders. Word was that this initially was only open to folks from Moran's district but...

Rasmussen has bad news for the spin machine on the Left about the town-hall protests. Despite weeks of attempting to dismiss the outpouring of anger as “Astroturfing,” a strong majority of voters believes them to be genuine, and an increased plurality supports them. In fact, the numbers of those believing the protests to be genuine have increased as ObamaCare advocates have pushed their accusations hard: Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters nationwide say that it’s more important for Congressmen to hear the view of their constituents rather than explain the proposed health care legislation. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey...

The Democrats, whose presidential administration previously condemned as "potential terrorists" those who oppose same-sex marriage and are offended by restrictions on firearms, all based on Internet chatter, has suggested blasting those who oppose Obamacare as "right-wing domestic terrorists" on 9/11 of this year. According to an "Organizing for America" campaign document unveiled by the Heritage Foundation the plan involves having activists telephone their "State Senators" on Sept. 11, 2009, to demand a "public option" which essentially would involve a government-funded and government-run monopoly on health care.
