For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16a, NASB).“What makes you different?” Steve asked. “I’m a follower of Jesus Christ,” responded Sammy.” The Christian faith of one of the most popular and highly paid 1960s-70s actors is the fulcrum on which Steve McQueen: American Icon is balanced. Greg Laurie, pastor, author, and long-time McQueen fan, narrates the engaging and entertaining documentary that is coming to select theaters this Thursday, September 28, for one night only. Laurie was drawn to McQueen’s story largely because of...

Went to see 2016 with my son inlaw today. At the conclusion of the movie the audience applauded, but not because it was a heartwarming ending or the good guys won kind of ending, but because someone has dared to tell the truth. It was more like, "finally, someone on our side is daring to tell this story". It is frightening to see just how imminent the effects of Obama's actions are, and that they are all so calculated. I used to get so mad at Romney when he would shovel the pablum, "Obama's a nice guy, he's just over...

On Saturday, my parents called to report they had driven an hour into Reno, Nevada, to see Paul Johansson's adaptation of Atlas Shrugged. Despite the film's strongly negative reviews, the theater was full. Curiously, this scene was true across the nation this weekend, as the film brought in more than 1.6 million despite only opening in 300 theaters: an average of $5,600 per theater, leaving it behind only the heavily advertised films Rio and Scream 4. Unfortunately, the quality of this adaptation is representative of its low budget and brief production time. The film meticulously retains the original plot of...

I watched the movie "John Q" today and am wondering what others that have seen it thought of this movie. It was a very emotional movie, a real tear jerker that would make anyones throat get a lump in it. It was a good movie, but it was political propaganda. Towards the end their was up to date clippings on news and commentators. Complete with Bill Maher/Hillary Clinton et al saying THE ONLY solutuion to the medical insurance issues that happen daily in our country---causing the young and the old to die waiting for an organ transplant; because insurance won't...
