But it was not the suspect who fired. Police say he had come across another man and attempted to rob him. Turns out, the intended victim had a license to carry and pulled out his own gun. A would-be victim turned the tables on an armed robber in Chester, shooting and killing him, police said. The unidentified man was getting out of his vehicle on the 500 block of West Seventh Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday when he was approached by two robbers, police said. When one of the robbers pulled out a gun and fired two shots, the man pulled out his own weapon and returned fire, according to investigators. “It was loud and it sounded like it was real close,” said Kyle Roane, a neighbor of the victim who heard the gunshots.

A Smyrna city worker shot a man attempting to carjack a woman's vehicle on Friday, authorities said. Police say two men in their twenties got off the trolley at 56th and Lansdowne Avenue and headed toward Media and Conestoga when two other men approached and announced a robbery. One of the victims then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot those two robbers. “Unbeknownst to the robbers, the 27-year-old victim has a permit to carry…has his handgun with him,” Police Lieutenant John Walker says. “He’s able to draw his handgun, firing multiple times, striking both robbery suspects.” One of the robbers then returned fire and shot the friend of the armed robbery victim.
