IDF sources claimed Monday night that new intelligence information obtained by Israel in recent days shows that participants of the flotilla planning to break Israel’s sea blockade over the Gaza Strip later this week plan to kill IDF soldiers who board their ships. According to the information obtained by the IDF, some of the participants have prepared a number of sacks with sulfur, which they plan to pour on the soldiers as they board the vessels. “This is a chemical weapon and if poured on a soldier it can paralyze him,” an IDF source told The Jerusalem Post Monday night....

A “women-only” ship, complete with a nun and a heavily pregnant mother, has cleared political and technical obstacles and is set to sail for Gaza, presenting Israel with a new challenge. The ship is supposed to leave Tripoli by Sunday night, its co-coordinator, Hizbullah-backer Samar al-Hajj, told the London Guardian. Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev told Israel National News, “There are no limits on goods going to Gaza, and any ships trying to bring so-called aid to Gaza will be regarded as provocations.” The sight of women—supposedly unarmed—facing Israeli naval commandos trying to stop it from breaking the sea embargo...

MK Haneen Zoabi joined the infamous Gaza flotilla. Dear MK Haneen Zoabi, The Israeli Parliament revoked some of your political privileges, sighting your consistent support of Israel's worst enemies. You claim you are a "Palestinian" - you are not. You are an Israeli Arab living in the geographical area known as Palestine, a territory assigned in 1922 by the League of Nations as the Jewish National Home. Furthermore; Political rights in Palestine were granted to Jews only according to the "Mandate for Palestine," an historical League of Nations document. All other inhabitants of the Land of Israel including you are...

Signalling forceful interception in case of non-compliance, the Israeli Navy on Tuesday confronted a Libyan aid ship trying to breach Israel’s three-year-old blockade of Hamas ruled Gaza Strip and ordered it to divert its course. But the captain of the ship rejected the order, setting course for a new confrontation over the blockade. Aboard the 92-metre vessel are a crew of 12 from Haiti, India and Syria, under the command of a Cuban-born captain, local media reports said. Most of the activists on board are from Libya, except for one Nigerian, one Algerian and one Moroccan, it added. An Israeli...

June 18, 2010 Turkish Raid May Have Killed 100 Kurdish Rebels ANKARA, Turkey (AP) -- Turkey's military said Friday it killed as many as 120 Kurdish rebels in an air raid on rebel hideouts in northern Iraq last month and a daylong incursion by elite commandos into Iraq this week. Kurdish rebels have dramatically stepped up attacks in Turkey in recent months in an escalation that poses a dire threat to a remarkable attempt at ending one of the world's longest guerrilla wars. The Turkish military responded to the rebels by sending its warplanes across the Iraqi border to bomb...

SNIPPET: "The Turkish group IHH announced Wednesday that it will send another flotilla to Gaza comprised of six ships during the second half of July. On the same day, Israel added IHH to its terrorist watch list." SNIPPET: "An IHH press conference was held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, organized by Richard Howitt, a British member of the Parliament. During the conference, Howitt encouraged the EU to back the new flotilla initiative, stating: "If this terrible (May 31) tragedy tips the balance so that the international community finally insists on full and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, then some...

"There is no connection between my boats and Hamas, Hezbollah or Iran," said Palestinian businessman Yasser Kashlak, who is organizing a two-vessel sail to Gaza as part of the effort to break Israel's naval blockade. One of the ships, the Naji el-Ali, is set to carry 25 European activists (including parliament members) and some 50 journalists. The sail is being organized by the Free Palestine Movement, which is headed by Kashlak, and Reporters without Borders. The second ship, the Mariam, is expected to carry medicines and additional humanitarian aid.

Rome, 8 June (AKI) - Twenty ships with more than 5,000 activists on board will leave for Gaza in September in a bid to deliver aid and break the three-year-old Israeli blockade, according to Mohammad Hannoun, president of the Italian Association of Palestinians in Italy. "Freedom Flotilla II will leave around September," he said during a panel discussion at the Turkish Embassy in Rome. Six ships have already left, he added. By JPOST.COM STAFF 06/07/2010 15:55 Israel must send Turkey a clear message that if Turkish warships are sent to accompany the next flotilla trying to break the embargo on Gaza, these will be considered acts of war by Israel , Uzi Dayan, former deputy Chief of General Staff, told Army Radio Monday morning. "If the Turkish prime minister joins such a flotilla,” Dayan said, “we should make clear beforehand this would be an act of war, and we would not try to take over the ship he was on, but would sink it.” “If Israel doesn't make this clear beforehand,...

Ms. Henochowicz, a burgeoning artist, lost an eye as Israeli military reportedly shot a tear gas canister at "Palestinian boys" throwing rocks. The canister apparently hit her in the eye. She was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery... No doubt the Israeli IDF standing guard had some soldiers younger than Emily. Their lives are threatened each and every day, and not only their lives, but the lives of their families. They are not attending a summer-session school. ... Does anyone care that Hamas, the PLO and Hezbollah have promised "Allah" to eliminate Israel? Has this young woman read these...

The few serious contributions by socialist writers towards understanding Jews and Jewish history are normally entitled The Jewish Question (Abram Leon's book) or The Jewish Problem (Isaac Deutcher's essay on 'The Russian Revolution and the Jewish Problem'). Also, reactionary writings on this subject have similar titles—for instance Marx's article and Sack's book on The Jewish Question. What is really at issue here is a non-Jewish problem. It is a non-Jewish problem every time a Jew on the Left comes out as Jewish and is immediately requested—with grave suspicion by the person making the request—to give their position on ... zionism....

WASHINGTON—Turkey moved closer to severing its relations with Israel, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly apologize for his government's high-seas military action against a pro-Palestinian flotilla this week in order to avert a formal diplomatic rupture. Senior Israeli officials responded Friday that their government would never apologize for an act of "self defense" and acknowledged that Israel could be on the verge of losing its closest military and economic ally in the Middle East. Such a development, these officials said, would raise new strategic and diplomatic challenges for Israel if Ankara reorients itself away from its historically pro-Israel and...

Fight, Israel, Regroup and Fight! by Ari Bussel In face of the Flotilla of Lies that has unleashed a wave of hatred toward the Jewish State the likes of which we have not seen in recent decades, Israel’s technical response was excellent: footage was made available in real time, her spokespersons are working around the clock and numerous individuals partake in battles raging on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other social networks. New entities were formed in places where they should have been operating long ago (like in the Ministry of Public Diplomacy and its outreach to American Jewry). New initiatives...
