  • Ex-Michigan Officials Sue to Stop Absentee Ballots from Being Counted if They Arrive After Election Day

    Breitbart ^ | 29 September 2020 | JOSHUA CAPLAN
A pair of former Republican Michigan secretaries of state on Tuesday sued to stop the state’s plan to count late-arriving ballots. The Detroit News reports: The suit in the Western District of Michigan is the latest escalation in a legal fracas focused on a state that President Donald Trump won by 10,704 votes in 2016. The suit argues that Michigan’s current policy risks placing “the resolution of the contest past dates Congress has set for” the so-called safe-harbor deadline for settling disputes of Dec. 8 and the Dec. 14 Electoral College vote. Ruth Johnson and Terri Lynn Land — two...

"Michigan is about as far away from the conservative LA art activism scene as possible, but anonymous pranksters in Lansing decided to make their voice heard with posters critical of Democrat Senate candidate Gary Peters. -By Editor" My comment: Lansing has never seen the kind of conservative LA art activism that brought us the famous "Ted Cruz with Tattoos" poster seen last year. (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/03/14/Ted-Cruz-Posters-Appear-in-Beverly-Hills) It's very exciting to see that conservatives are beginning to understand that art is very important in communicating, and are willing to stick their necks out for principles. No one has come forward yet to take...

PPP's final polls for Governor in Florida, Michigan, and Illinois find incredibly tight contests in all three states. Florida is the closest. Rick Scott and Charlie Crist both have 44%, with Libertarian Adrian Wyllie polling at 6%. PPP usually has a policy of not releasing poll results to the decimal, but when we find a tie on our final poll of the cycle somewhere we make an exception. Crist is at 44.0% to 43.8% for Scott- in terms of raw respondents to the poll that's 526 for Crist and 524 for Scott. Wyllie may be playing a spoiler role for...

Michigan Republican Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land has to benefit from this news. She is just 2 points down but needs our help. Reach out to her at https://transaxt.com/Donate/2G8TUC/TerriLynnLandforSenate/?src=nav&amt=50 It took a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by Breitbart News to get the truth about Michigan Democrat Gary Peters’ military service “jacket.” Once it was opened it became easy to see why he wouldn’t want anybody to review it because it shows, “a man who had a broken service record that was substandard,” according to one of his former Commanding Officers. To be specific, Peters’ former C.O. said,...

Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI) has launched a new advertisement that falsely claims GOP candidate Terri Lynn Land wants to cut women’s access to various female health services. The new ad comes as Peters and his campaign have completely publicly ignored an investigation by Breitbart News into Peters’ military background, in which documents and interviews with military leaders—including one of Peters’ former commanding officers—have shown that he fabricated much of his service record for political gain on the campaign trail. “This is an important election for women,” a woman in the Peters campaign ad says. “And...

Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI) accidentally proved to the Daily Beast he lied on his campaign website and on the campaign trail about his military record as part of an effort to disprove a Breitbart News investigation—and the Daily Beast’s Tim Mak fell hook, line and sinker for the Peters’ campaign’s spin despite being provided with evidence by Peters that Peters lied. “To rebut the Breitbart story, the Peters campaign provided The Daily Beast with a document signed by a commanding officer showing that the candidate qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist on August 5,...

A victory by Terri Lynn Land in Michigan’s Senate race in November is important to winning back Republican control of the chamber, former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney told supporters during a GOP rally Thursday in his native state. Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who lost the 2012 presidential race to Barack Obama, said it has been a tough time for the country since that election. “It’s time for him to apologize to America,” Romney said of Obama, speaking to several hundred GOP supporters. But, Romney said, “Help is on the way” in the person of Land, who “will make...

Jim Geragthy, acclaimed author and National Review’s chief campaign analyst, has been grousing about the lack of quality polling in key Senate races this year. His frustration is well-founded. So yesterday must have felt like Christmas in September for Jim and political junkies everywhere, as two pollsters released a deluge of surveys covering the most contested races in the country. In light of the results, I’d expect that national Republicans are kicking off the week with an extra spring in their step, as well. We were leaked an advance copy of last week’s much-anticipated Politico/GWU Battleground poll, which was packed...

As Republicans contemplate the possible size of their November victory, outlier races may get interesting. Scott Brown, a few weeks ago considered certain to lose, may well win in New Hampshire. Most folks would not have thought that Republican Terri Land had a chance in a blue state like Michigan, but she continues to run close to Peters in the race. Al Franken also cannot pull away in his re-election fight, and all the polls show that race tightening. Surely the trophy in any general election is for one party to knock off a legislative leader of the other party....

To many Democrats, ObamaCare is a four-letter word. Most Democrats in competitive elections are seeking to avoid the topic, opting not to tout the controversial law on their campaign websites. In a review of battleground races, The Hill found that out of 50 Democratic candidates with active campaign websites, only 11 mention the healthcare law by name, either as "ObamaCare," "Affordable Care Act," or "ACA." Fourteen more mention the law, but not its name, and half the candidates omit it entirely from their websites. President Obama has trumpeted that more than 8 million people have enrolled in ACA-related plans. Meanwhile,...

VIDEO AT LINKTerri Lynn Land, who’s running for the U.S. Senate against leftist progressive Democrat and current Congressman Gary Peters, is tired of the ridiculous “War on Women” meme that Democrats invented to smear Republicans (WATCH VIDEO BELOW). But it didn’t take any words for Land, the former Michigan secretary of state, to destroy Peters’ accusation. All is took was a pregnant pause to make the accusation that a woman would be waging a “War on Women” look moronic in this quite funny new ad by Terri Lynn Land, entitled simply, “Really?” The Michigan senate race is turning out to...

Former Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land is running for the U.S. Senate as a Republican and shockingly, her Democratic opponent Rep. Gary Peters is accusing her of waging a war on women (Democrats are being really original with their attack strategy this year). Now, Land is taking on the issue directly with her first campaign ad openly mocking Peters for accusing her, a woman, of waging a war on women. "I'm Terri Lynn Land and I approve this message because as a woman, I might know a little bit more about women than Gary Peters." The ad is...

 Terri Lynn Land continues to enjoy a six point lead in the race for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Democrat Carl Levin. This is according to a poll conducted on April 9 and distributed this morning by Mitchell Research and Communications with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.56%. When asked if the election were being held today would you be voting for Republican Terri Lynn Land or Democrat Gary peters 44% responded Land while 38% answered Peters. A total of 18% were undecided. Both Land and Peters seem to be attending to keep the...

The latest Mitchell Research poll has Land up six (44/38) over Peters; a previous Mitchell poll had her behind by one. This is enough to put her in front, overall; toss out the partisan polls and Terry Lynn Rand is ahead by rather more. Looking at the rend line… well, Gary Peters can’t just seem to catch fire. And I don’t think that the governor’s race is going to help, either: as of this moment Rick Snyder is decently ahead, and in a comfortable place for a Republican governor in a blue state. Hmm. Snyder needs a little work on...

LANSING, MI – The debate on how to make sure men and women are paid the same was highlighted in Michigan this week when President Barack Obama called out GOP Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land over equal pay and comments used in a web video. The ad Speaking to Reporters in Houston on Thursday, Obama mentioned Land, not by name but as a Republican running for Senate in Michigan. “Very rarely do you meet people who make the choice to be paid less for doing the same job,” Obama said, according to poll reports. The Michigan Senate race was supposed to be an easy win for Democratic Rep. Gary Peters, but former Republican Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land has taken a commanding lead in the latest poll released Monday over her Democratic counterpart. Land has an 8 point lead in the Conservative Intel/Harper Poll of Michigan conducted Jan. 7-8 of 1,004 likely voters, with 44 percent of Michigan voters saying they would vote for Land over 36 percent who said they would vote for Peters. Land also lead by 2 percentage points in the survey from liberal-leaning Public Policy Polling in December by...

With pundits focused on higher-profile Senate races in the South and West, a new Conservative Intel/Harper Poll shows that Republicans have a very serious pickup opportunity in the Midwest. The early poll of 1,004 likely Michigan voters, conducted January 7th and 8th by Harper Polling, shows Republican former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land (at right) leading Democratic U.S. Rep. Gary Peters (below), 44 to 36 percent.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — U.S. Rep. Justin Amash, R-Cascade Township, is being pressured to stay out of the race for retiring Sen. Carl Levin's seat by libertarian power brokers Ron and Rand Paul. That's according to a National Journal article published Wednesday that examines the potential candidacies of Amash and fellow Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Howell. According to the article, rumors are flying that Amash — branded in several national media articles as the "next Ron Paul" — is being cautioned against a run by the elder Paul and Rand Paul, a Kentucky senator: But perhaps most illustrative of the tension...
