The Brody File was watching Sarah Palin’s comedy bit on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and it made me wonder the following: Is Sarah Palin relevant? The answer is a bit complicated. Is she taking seriously as a politician by the liberal mainstream media? No. But do they still pay attention to her every move? Yes they do. Why is that? Yes, part of it has to do with the fact that there is a certain carnival atmosphere surrounding how she goes about her business. I mean, she knows how to command an audience and entertain. But let's not...

Howard Stern has made no secret of his affection for Greg Gutfeld. Stern proclaimed Gutfeld's The Five to be his favorite show earlier this year. Now, the self-proclaimed King of All Media is going a step further with his praise for the Breitbart News contributor and author. Stern told his listeners earlier today that Gutfeld would make a fine replacement for the departing David Letterman. That praise doesn't come lightly. Stern has made his animosity toward fellow late night talker Jay Leno well known...

Sarah Palin has a new reality show premiering Thursday night on the Sportsman Channel. In Amazing America with Sarah Palin, the former Alaskan governor and Republican vice presidential candidate will showcase the places and people that she says represent what makes America so "good and free." Given that the show is airing on the Sportsman Channel, it's no surprise that it will feature outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. She recently told TV critics, "I think this world would be better off having more young women holding a fish in a picture, and fewer of them holding their camera in...

German woman, dead six months, found in front of TV BERLIN (Reuters) - The corpse of a 66-year-old German woman who died more than six months ago was found in her apartment, in front of a television set that was still on, the Frankfurter Neue Presse newspaper reported on Tuesday. The woman, in the town of Oberursel near Frankfurt, died of natural causes in a nightgown while watching TV. There was a program guide from September nearby, the newspaper said, describing the body as "partially mummified". Police said residents in the 30-apartment block had noticed an unpleasant smell in the...

Germany’s top court ruled on Tuesday morning that politicians have too much influence over the country’s state broadcaster. The Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe decided that several aspects of broadcaster ZDF’s state contract were against the constitution. […] Politicians can also have “no decisive influence” over the selection of members for the television board, the court added. …

The Sportsman Channel's promo for Sarah Palin's new reality television venture features the gun-toting politico-turned-celebrity exploring her idea of American freedom: man caves, target shooting and race cars. "Amazing America's" teaser "She's coming with a full heart and a full magazine," might be getting snickers but some think she's redefining political branding. That's because, in this media obsessed culture, all of that on camera wilderness exploring, dog racing, and hunting, when coupled with fundraising and endorsing grassroots conservatives, adds up to a hefty boost in the Palin brand and political influence. "It keeps her visible," said Julian Zelizer, a Princeton...

Maher began the monologue by declaring that America is “stupid” because 60 percent of the country reportedly believes the tale of Noah’s ark is literally true. He went on to slam the film Noah as “floating giraffe cr**,” but said it “must be doing something right” since it’s been condemned by both Muslims and Christians. And the fact that it might lose a lot of studio money, he joked, “may put it in hot water with the Jews too.”

Even if you weren’t one of the 28.2 million Americans watching the 2014 Grammys last month, you probably caught wind of the controversy over Beyoncé’s raunchy performance of her song “Drunk in Love,” featuring her husband Jay-Z. Perhaps it was her lingerie-like outfit or her chair dancing or the part where Jay-Z grasped her rear, but this was one of those moments when parents find themselves putting their hands over their children’s eyes—or flipping to another channel. Beyoncé, a mother of a 2-year old, raked in tons of media attention for that performance. Some of the publicity was negative. The...

With an appearance on Bloomberg TV Tuesday, Former CNN president Jon Klein and former NBC entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin announced their new online streaming video venture called TAPP, short for “TV App.” As for the types of personalities the pair hopes to feature on the service? According to Klein, Sarah Palin is exactly the type of person they are looking for. “We are not talking about specific talent,” Klein said in response to rumors that they have been in talks with Palin about the venture. “I will tell you that Sarah Palin is the kind of personality who has a...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)As expected, Girls creator/star Lena Dunham got nude on Saturday Night Live this weekend, in one scene mocking the Genesis Eden story, where a partly blurred-out nude Dunham and leaf-covered co-star Taran Killam poked fun at the biblical narrative. Saturday’s episode earned SNL’s second lowest ratings of the year. "Son of God. Noah," says the narrator. "And now, another extraordinary Biblical film that tells the astonishing story of the Garden of Eden and the Garden of Life itself." Dunham then appears naked. "Adam, Adam, a snake just talked to me. Is that normal?" Dunham says. "Before there were Girls," the...

Sarah Palin is being wooed by two news media veterans to join a streaming network, The Post has learned. Jonathan Klein, who ran CNN’s US operations, and Jeff Gaspin, who was most recently chairman of NBC-Universal Entertainment, have already raised enough money from deep-pocketed backers to start the over-the-top network, and have reached out to a few bold-faced names to host a show to make selling subscriptions easier, sources said. And is the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate among those the two have approached? You betcha, sources said. Palin seemed interested but has not committed, sources added....

Two people were hospitalized Sunday after they tried to save their flat-screen TV before leaving their burning St. Paul apartment. Firefighters were called to the six-unit apartment building at 624 N. Chatsworth St., near North Lexington Parkway and Interstate 94, just before 3 p.m., according to St. Paul Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard. He said when firefighters entered the basement apartment, a man and a woman were disconnecting the TV in an attempt to take it out with them. The room already had filled with thick smoke, he said. Firefighters had to tell them to leave the TV behind and get...

For failing to broadcast sufficient levels of Canadian-made pornography — and failing to close-caption said pornography properly — a trio of Toronto-based erotica channels has earned a reprimand from the Canadian Radio-television & Telecommunications Commission. Wednesday, the CRTC issued a broadcast notice saying AOV Adult Movie Channel, XXX Action Clips and the gay-oriented Maleflixxx were all failing to reach the required 35% threshold for Canadian content. Based on a 24-hour broadcast schedule, that translates to about 8.5 hours of Canadian erotica a day. The notice was issued as a result of Channel Zero’s efforts to renew licences for all three...

Looks like Miami's new sister city is none other than Pawnee, Ind. Yesterday, the 305 was home to Parks and Recreation IRL, as Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama took the stage at the NFL/YET Center at Gwen Cherry Park to announce some new additions to the first-lady's "Let's Move" kids' health initiative. Miamians with their affinity for all things pork could certainly stand to take a cue from both Obama's efforts and from the enthusiasm of Leslie Knope, who's bound and determined to get Pawneeans to ditch 64-ounce sodas and paunch burgers. Together, the duo waxed rhapsodic about healthy...

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough continues to indicate that he is taking the prospect of running for president in 2016 seriously by giving speeches in more early primary states. Just last week, Scarborough made the trek from New York City to Greenville, South Carolina to speak at the South Carolina Automotive Council’s yearly summit. A schedule for the event indicates that Scarborough addressed attendees during a morning speech at the Hyatt Hotel in Greenville on Feb. 20. Scarborough’s visit to South Carolina, the location of the “First in the South” primary, follows The Daily Caller’s report earlier this month that it’s widely...
