U.S.—Remember super-Christian and football/baseball player Tim Tebow? The guy who took a knee before it was cool? Well, Tebow is now officially the only member of the NFL. The bold change for the league occurred after officials decided that everyone who had ever said a bad word would be removed from the league. *snip*

The Tim Tebow tight end experiment in Jacksonville has come to an end. Tebow was released by the Jaguars today, ending a very brief return to football and likely ending his NFL career. Anyone who saw Tebow’s “highlights” from the Jaguars’ preseason opener had little doubt that he was failing as a tight end. He did nothing as a receiver and was painfully bad as a blocker. Once among America’s most popular athletes, Tebow is probably now done in pro sports.

Why would Keyshawn Johnson, as the Associated Press reported earlier this week, walk off the set of his national radio show in apparent shock and disgust at Tim Tebow signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a backup tight end? Why would ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and many other media figures rail against “White privilege!” when Urban Meyer, Tebow’s college coach with the Florida Gators, signed Tebow to play on his hometown NFL team? Why does there seem to be so many people rooting against Tebow — one of the most caring, compassionate, benevolent, big-hearted, philanthropic, altruistic role models in the...

Wherever we turn, race is the issue. Any problem that we face, race must be at the root of it. At least, that’s the way it feels in America these years. Any outcome that we do not like, any narrative that we reject, any person with whom we have a problem – all of it must be traced back to race. This is as dishonest as it is destructive, and if we really care about equality and justice, we had better reevaluate our strategy, and we had better do it quickly. I’m reminded of a humorous story my dad told...

The Jacksonville Jaguars are planning on signing Tebow to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network, as he plans a comeback as a tight end. Though the ex-quarterback had brief stints with the Patriots and Eagles, Tebow hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012 with the Jets. Tebow, 33, recently had a tryout with the Jaguars after reaching out to them regarding his interest in converting to tight end.

With his former college coach, Urban Meyer, now in Jacksonville, the Heisman Trophy winner apparently is looking at unretiring from football. The Jaguars recently worked out Tebow and have had discussions with him about signing, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. The team plans to try him at tight end. Tebow last played in a regular-season football game in 2012, only one season after Tebowmania took the NFL by storm. Following one season with the Jets, however, the 2010 first-round pick of the Broncos failed to make a 53-man roster despite opportunities with the Eagles and Patriots.

Tebow went through a workout with the team’s tight ends coach, according to NFL Network, and the Jaguars have had “at least some discussion” of signing him. Jaguars coach Urban Meyer...
