"Fox ran several decent segments covering the crowds. MSNBC also featured decent segments that did not appear biased. Signs such as those displaying the President with a Hitler mustache, swastikas, and similar pictorials are prominently shown in the footage of most of the major media outlets. This portrayal is incorrect as the more offensive signs were clearly not predominant. This appears to be a way to gain “shock value” for their stories, which is completely unnecessary. Any protest that pulls mom and pop, white and black, red and yellow, republican and democrat, libertarian and Christian, young and old, should be...

The outdoor terrace at Greenville‘s Bilo Center will play host to the Upstate Young Republicans post-tax day Tea Party Protest on Friday night April 17th at 6:00 PM. The overwhelming success of February’s Tea Party that turned out nearly 2000 people made it necessary to move the event to private property. “Success sometimes breeds its own challenges,” said Carl Clegg, of the Upstate Young Republicans, “but these are the challenges that we like to face head-on and with the amazing support and financial contributions of Greenville’s conservatives, we will again unite the voices of thousands and say loudly ‘…government is...

Sabotage moonbat moves to undercut America’s 2,000 plus Tea Parties has bypassed sneaky for sinister. “Just this morning, I received word that a new radical organization calling itself “A New Way Forward” has put together an underhanded sneak attack designed to undercut the popular uprising known as the Tea Party Movement,” Bill Wilson, of Americans for Limited Government (ALG), warned mainstreet Americans yesterday. “Simply put, their idea is to stage phony rallies throughout the country on April 11--made to look like they are part of the Tea Party movement--while actually opposing Tea Party principles and supporting the complete government takeover...

He stated that the media is just laughing at us this time, and that we need something relevant, a symbol; that got me to thinking: What WOULD be relevant to our movement? Then it hit me "DOLLAR BILLS": IF YOU ALL SPREAD THIS IDEA AROUND TO VARIOUS "Tea Parties" It might catch on (and...

Want Tax Reform? Stop Paying TaxesMarch 27, 2006 BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Here's my idea. In addition to illegal immigration, many of us in this country are fed up with the federal tax system. We're just fed up with it. But over the years we've been intimidated into obeying. We call on our patriotism tendencies and our desires to do the right thing and so forth, but admit it: We're also scared to death that that's the one thing the federal government will not stop looking for until they find it, and that's every tax cheat in the country. But yet...

WASHINGTON - The Senate Judiciary Committee approved election-year immigration legislation Monday that clears the way for millions of undocumented workers to seek U.S. citizenship without having to first leave the country. After days of street demonstrations that stretched from California to the gounds of the U.S. Capitol, the committee also voted to strip out proposed criminal penalties for residents found to be in this country illegally. The panel's vote cleared the way for the full Senate to begin debate Tuesday on the emotional immigration issue. "All Americans wanted fairness and they got it this evening," said Sen. Edward M. Kennedy...

The widely promoted claim that Americans are not required to pay income taxes on their wages is false, a federal judge ruled Friday in ordering one of its leading proponents to stop inciting tax evasion. The judge, Christopher C. Conner, ordered the proponent, Thurston Paul Bell of Hanover, Pa., to post the court's order at his Web site (www.nite.org). Mr. Bell was also ordered to remove all language promoting the claim, known as the 861 position after a section of the tax code, that only those working for foreign-owned companies owe taxes on their wages. Mr. Bell must turn over...

"I won’t go to jail." Bob Schulz announces this in late January to a rapt crowd of 200 gathered in an auditorium in Crystal City, Virginia. It’s the first national conference of the We The People Foundation for Constitutional Education, a nonprofit advocacy group Schulz founded and runs. He delivers his declaration not with reckless bravado but with a dignified, quiet, middle-management-lifer assurance, in keeping with his general mien. Schulz is a serious white male in a nice conservative dark suit, a former environmental engineer for both General Electric and the Environmental Protection Agency. He’s been married for 38 years...

Defiant tax protester gets seven-year sentence By Toni Heinzl FORT WORTH - He calls himself a "Christian patriot" and a "political prisoner." Convicted in January on 29 counts of violating U.S. income tax laws, Bedford businessman Richard Simkanin remained defiant in his anti-government stance at his sentencing Friday. Simkanin, 59, told U.S. District Judge John McBryde that after spending thousands of hours studying federal tax laws, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, he concluded that he did not agree with the tax laws. But McBryde had heard enough. Going beyond federal sentencing guidelines, McBryde sentenced Simkanin to seven years...

Tax protester faces kiddie-porn charges A Montgomery County man who has publicly dared the Internal Revenue Service to arrest him for not paying federal income taxes was charged yesterday in federal court in Philadelphia with possession of child pornography. IRS agents seized 10 computers from the Hollywood home of Larken Rose more than a year ago, but have yet to charge the tax protester with any tax crimes. The child pornography was "inadvertently discovered" by an IRS agent who was examining one of the computer's hard drives, an FBI agent alleged. FBI agent Beatrice A. DeFazio said the computer images...

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Over spring break I did something for which I'm having trouble forgiving myself. The cowardice and selfishness involved is infuriating, but it's not something I can take back. I can't fix it, and I can't change it. I'm a coward because two weeks ago I paid my taxes. This is my first time paying any sort of tax, other than sales. Last year I finally made enough money to merit taxation (a double-edged sword). This isn't to say that I made a large amount of money, nor is it to say that I owe an exorbitant amount....

Banned book now availableNow that a federal appeals court has temporarily blocked a lower court's order preventing author Irwin Schiff from selling a book that argues paying income tax is voluntary, the book is available for the April 15 tax deadline. In an emergency stay in September, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals prevented U.S. District Court Judge Lloyd George from enforcing a preliminary injunction against Schiff. George had banned the self-proclaimed tax guru from distributing the book, Federal Mafia: How It Illegally Imposes and Unlawfully Collects Income Taxes.According to Amazon.com, if you want the book to use when...

Tax Protester Tells Federal Court That He Is Delusional By DAVID CAY JOHNSTON LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 - Irwin Schiff, the nation's best-known promoter of claims that no law requires the payment of income taxes, suffers from delusions including a fantasy that he alone can properly interpret the tax laws, according to papers that he had his lawyers file in Federal District Court in Las Vegas. The filing, made on Jan. 23, is highly unusual, especially in a civil lawsuit. The document asks a judge to deny a summary judgment in favor of the Justice Department that Mr. Schiff owes...

FORT WORTH - After deliberating for more than 13 hours over two days, a federal jury Wednesday convicted Bedford businessman and tax protester Richard Simkanin on 29 counts of violating U.S. income tax laws. The jury of six men and six women delivered its verdict shortly after 8 p.m. They remained deadlocked on two counts within the indictment, leading U.S. District Judge John McBryde to declare a mistrial on those charges. Simkanin stood silently with his hands behind his back, showing no emotion, as a court clerk read the 29 guilty verdicts. Some supporters in the courtroom dabbed their eyes;...

Posted on Fri, Jan. 09, 2004 Bedford anti-tax advocate is movement's new hero Dave Lieber - In My Opinion I spent part of this week in a bizarre world. U.S. District Judge John McBryde, the no-nonsense judge once accused by a fellow federal judge of "bizarre and bullying conduct," locked me along with dozens of other spectators in his courtroom. McBryde really did order his bailiffs to lock the door. And who was I locked in there with? An all-star team of federal income-tax haters, some of whom don't recognize the authority of the United States government, and showed this...

FORT WORTH - Anti-tax protesters from across the country braved a chilly reception inside and outside the federal courthouse Monday when Bedford businessman Richard Simkanin went on trial for the second time on charges of violating U.S. tax laws. U.S. District Judge John McBryde closed the courtroom during jury selection. About 100 of Simkanin's supporters were ordered to leave the fourth floor of the courthouse while they waited for trial testimony to begin. Simkanin, the 59-year-old owner of a small Bedford plastics manufacturing company, is accused of failing to withhold and pay $175,000 in taxes on employee wages and of...

The "tax honesty" organization spearheading legal action against the federal government for its failure to answer a "petition for redress of grievances" regarding the income tax is moving into the second phase of its class-action suit. We the People says its attorney, Mark Lane, has developed his "plan of attack" for filing the next round of court documents in the suit. The legal action takes the government to task for the failure of either the executive or legislative branch to address the 537 questions about the validity of the federal income tax posed by WTP's petition.
