SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Officials are looking to capture some of Lake Tahoe's biggest polluters: Canada geese. A sewage spill at the lake last summer "is nothing compared to what's happening with these geese," said Jack Spencer, a federal Department of Agriculture wildlife biologist. Group Seeks to Make Tahoe Homes Less Vulnerable to Fire Motivated by the devastating Southern California fires, a group has formed to lower the vulnerability of communities on Lake Tahoe's north shore. Fazio argued a case in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday in an effort to block salvage logging in the Sierra's Eldorado National Forest about 20 miles west of Lake Tahoe. <p>Lake Tahoe sank so low before recent storms that many boat docks were left high and dry. Scientists say that historical droughts have caused Tahoe's vast shoreline to drop 20 feet, allowing forests to grow where there is now water.</p>
