A suicide bomber attacked Turkish-backed rebels just outside the Syrian town of Al-Bab Friday, killing 42 people in a major blow just hours after they hailed its capture from ISIS. The bomber blew up a vehicle packed with explosives outside a rebel command centre in the village of Susian, five miles northeast of Al-Bab, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The blast devastated the twin command posts and also seriously wounded a large number of fighters, the Britain-based monitoring group said.

The American military is warning residents of ISIS’s Syrian capital to leave the city—suggesting that an offensive on Raqqa was imminent, two Pentagon officials told the Daily Beast. In the past day, residents of Raqqa have posted photos of the warnings on Twitter, saying they were airdropped on leaflets by the U.S.-led coalition. The defense officials were the first to confirm that the coalition had indeed issued the warnings.

According to the Russian Senator Igor Morozov, Beijing has taken decision to take part in combating IS and sent its vessels to the Syrian coast. ISIS have received heavy bombardment in Palmyra for the second day in a row, a group monitoring the war has said. The Islamic State-held city of Palmyra was bombed on Friday as Syrian army jets carried out at least 25 air strikes. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it was one of the most sustained government bombardments of Palmyra. The air strikes killed at least 26 people, including 12 Islamic State fighters, the British-based Observatory said.
