Several people have been injured after Sikh groups brandishing swords clashed at India's Golden Temple as special prayers were held to mark the deadly military offensive there in 1984. Not everyone uses a gun in Texas. One man pulls out a sword to defend himself over the weekend in Katy. It happened at a home near The Grand Parkway and Kingsland Boulevard Saturday night when a woman’s estranged husband showed up at her home with her live in boyfriend. According to the boyfriend, Eugene Thompson, the husband came after him and that’s when Eugene ran into the bedroom closet and got his “Legend of Zelda” replica sword. A Vallejo woman was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Wednesday morning for allegedly throwing a steak knife at a Denny's waitress, police said. The restaurant at 4355 Sonoma Blvd. had refused to serve the woman because she had left without paying her bill on several occasions, Lt. Jeff Bassett said. The woman, 56-year-old Ayo Carew, "went into a rage" after she was refused service and started throwing knives and forks at about 7:50 a.m., Bassett said. According to the police report, the waitress told officers she had to duck to avoid being hit by a knife.

MARSHALL (AP) - Three people have been hurt in a hatchet attack at a Wal-Mart in East Texas and police arrested a transient on assault charges. Marshall police Detective Sonya Johnson said Monday that Christopher Hamilton of Crawford, Ark., allegedly had the hatchet with him when entering the store. Two female workers and a male shopper were attacked early Sunday.

A Palm Coast man who stabbed his computer with a samurai sword during a child-porn search of his home in May has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of receiving child pornography over the Internet, officials said today.
