McDaniel (cut) lauded changes made at the party while she was in charge, including the creation of the WinRed online fundraising platform, growing the RNC’s email list from 3 million to 50 million subscribers and “engaging minority voters and bringing them into the party.” McDaniel cited GOP gains in 2022 with Asian, Hispanic and Black voters. When candidate Trump became the presumptive nominee, and after he secured the required number of delegates, the procedural process within the RNC/candidate agreement required the winning nominee to turn over his donor files. Prior to the era of MAGA and Trump, the RNC had...

Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) reported earnings after the market close on Tuesday, and the all-important subscriber acquisitions far exceeded even the most bullish forecasts. Before the COVID-19 pandemic marched across the globe, Netflix had guided for 7 million new paying members. As the number of lockdowns and stay-at-home orders increased, however, so did analysts' growth estimates, with some exceeding 10 million. Even that wasn't enough. The streaming pioneer added a record 15.77 million new monthly subscribers, up nearly 23% year over year, bringing its global total to 182.86 million. Domestic growth -- which had recently stagnated -- was reignited by those...

On Wednesday, Netflix announced its subscriber base in the United States declined for the first time since 2011. The streaming giant had forecast a gain of 300,000 during the second quarter (April through June), but instead it lost about 130,000 homes here. Thanks to international growth, Netflix still added 2.7 million customers overall, pushing its global base to a record 151 million. But even that wasn’t entirely good news: Netflix had told investors it expected to gain about 5 million new customers in the quarter, making this its biggest missed forecast since 2016. So what’s behind this gloomy quarter...

Sharyl Attkisson talked to Matt Boyle Friday about current events and an extremely disturbing trend. Elites have become adept at controlling media narratives, going so far as to ostracize reporters who “veer” from a particular narrative: “It’s certainly happening here in the United States,” said Attkisson. Asked if American media appear to be aggressively pushing a particular narrative, specifically gun control in light of the recent terrorism in Orlando, Attkisson said: I think they’ve been pushing narratives a lot for the last couple of years in a way I haven’t seen five years ago … ten years ago, for sure....

DISH FAQS Posted: Dec 19, 2014 1:50 PM CST 1. What is happening? By law, WBOC and FOX21 must negotiate carriage agreements with satellite companies like DISH. Usually, these deals are reached without any disruption to your service. In fact, our company has negotiated dozens of agreements. Unfortunately, so far, DISH has refused to reach a fair, market-based deal to carry WBOC and FOX21. Our existing agreement with DISH expires at midnight on Dec. 31, 2014. If no deal is reached before that date, you will lose live access to the shows, sports and local news on WBOC and FOX21,...

Chicago Tribune is doubling and tripling weekday delivery rates for some readers when their subscriptions come up for renewal. The newspaper, a unit of Chicago-based Tribune Co., has sent some subscribers letters notifying them of the increases; others have simply seen a higher price show up on their credit card bills. The size of the rate jump depends on what a customer was paying previously. “I'm writing to let you know that while we worked hard to maintain pricing in this challenging economy and industry for the last couple years, your current pricing is about to expire,” one letter to...

Horror show: Netflix losing more customers than expected on price hike, stock plunges 19 pctSAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Netflix's decision to raise prices by as much as 60 percent is turning into a horror show. The customer backlash against the higher rates, kicking in this month, has been much harsher than Netflix Inc. anticipated. That prompted management to predict Thursday that the company --the largest U.S. video subscription service-- will end September with 600,000 fewer U.S. customers than it had in June.

Subscribers to MoveOn.org's mailing lists may have found their interest in the anti-Bush political site a matter of public record. A Web page misconfiguration left dozens of the liberal political group's subscriber pages easily searchable through simple Google queries. Each page included a subscriber's name, e-mail address and the mailing lists to which he or she is subscribed. CNET News.com confirmed that several related searches turned up more than two dozen individual subscriber pages. "This is extremely disturbing," said one subscriber, when contacted through e-mail. The subscriber asked that his or her name not be used. "I'm not sure if...
