he Watergate tapes stand as one of the stunning, implausible twists of American history. Nixon confessed his crimes and recorded himself in the process. Who does that? In their book The Final Days, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein write, “the single thread that linked the problems together was the President’s tapes. The lawyers represented a President who had bugged himself, who had blurted his secrets into hidden microphones. They had not yet heard the tapes, nor seen any transcripts of them. The President would not permit it. They were told to mount a defense, but were not given the information...

The Saudi Arabian government plans to withdraw all Saudi students studying at Canadian universities, colleges and other schools in retaliation for Canada criticizing the country’s human-rights record. A Saudi government source, who wasn’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter, said there are more than 15,000 Saudis here on government-funded scholarships, grants or in trainee programs. Accompanying family members bring the number to 20,000 or more. The Saudi students will be moved immediately to study programs in other countries with similar education systems, such as Britain or the United States, the Saudi official said. Separately, Saudi Arabian Airlines, via the...

This is a monthly posting of Twitter follower growth over the past month. Last Month's post here The purpose of these posts is to track Twitter follower growth for announced presidential candidates on a month over month basis. This is unscientific and is not intended to be taken that seriously. I also understand that some presidential candidates may inflate their twitter following by artificial means. But during the 2016 campaign, the growth trends did seem to correlate to the actual results. All during that campaign, the Twitter growth of Trump was massive compared to the other candidates. Only Hillary and...

Decades of climate research has established that the Earth is warming and that humans are a significant factor. Largely due to humans adding greenhouses gases to the atmosphere -- through burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and many other agricultural, industrial and human activities -- the rise in temperatures over the past century has been unprecedented. According to researchers at NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), 2016 was the warmest year in documented history. In fact, 16 of the 17 warmest years on record have occurred since 2001. By 2050, annual average temperatures are expected to rise in...

Donald Trump goes to Europe, scandalizes the Euroweenies, libs, and cruise-shilling grifters of Never Trump, and comes back victorious. He’s about to get his second SCOTUS justice confirmed – all they have on Brett Kavanaugh is that he likes beer and is named “Brett.” In Congress, the Democrats decided to go all in on abolishing ICE because Americans love open borders and welcome MS-13 or something. In the Mueller farce, the Dems decided that the smart play was to publicly run interference for creepy weirdo Peter Strzok when he went on national TV doing his impression of Lotion Boy from...

Media darling and Democrat Senator Kamala Harris tweeted on Monday about the power of the Supreme Court. Kamala Harris: Two decades after Brown v. Board, I was only the second class to integrate at Berkeley public schools. Without that decision, I likely would not have become a lawyer and eventually be elected a Senator from California. That’s the power a Supreme Court Justice holds. There’s just one problem — Everything about that tweet is a lie.

Chicago alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa penned an op-ed for NBC that encapsulates the reasons why Democrats will be unable to capitalize this November on the relative unpopularity of Republicans in the Midwest, given the Dems' turn to the hard left. Rosa is described as "Queer, Latinx and a democratic socialist" – whatever that means. In political terms, it means he would be a gone goose if he ran for Congress in the vast majority of districts anywhere in the Midwest. But Rosa doesn't see it that way. In fact, he believes that Midwesterners would embrace a socialist candidate and are "not...

Ever since Maxine Waters encouraged her supporters to publicly harass Trump supporters, liberals have denounced civility and things just keep getting worse. Now, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC Contributor Jennifer Rubin announced that if Trump gets his way with the supreme court, it is time for civil war. “The people who brought Donald Trump and delivered him to the White House want this [the overturn of Roe], and I think they will not be disappointed. So then the question is, if they’re not able to withstand this onslaught, not able to hold back a justice that would reverse Roe, what...

After canceling the comedy following star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet, the Disney-owned network has found a way to move forward with the original cast, creators and likely crew as 'The Conners.' Weeks after its stunning decision to cancel Roseanne, ABC is officially moving forward with a spinoff of TV's current No. 1 series — without controversial star Roseanne Barr. Following aggressive talks with exec producer Tom Werner, the Disney-owned broadcaster has handed out a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for Roseanne spinoff The Conners (working title). The new take, which will also be a multicamera comedy and premiere in the fall, will...

An elementary school set to open in Mountain View, Calif., next summer will be named after an illegal immigrant. The new school will be named after award-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, after the Mountain View Whisman School District board voted on Thursday. Vargas emigrated from the Philippines with his family to America when he was 12 years old. Vargas said, “As a proud product of the Bay Area’s public school system, I am overwhelmed by this totally unexpected and deeply meaningful honor." Vargas revealed his undocumented status in 2011, in a New York Times Magazine essay. "On the surface, I’ve...

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) mangled a famous Texas saying while delivering a speech on the Senate floor Wednesday so badly that he unintentionally praised President Donald Trump for the outcome of the Singapore Summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. For generations, Texans have referred to a person who talks big but is unable to deliver as someone who is “all hat and no cattle.” New York’s left-wing “urban cowboy” reversed the words when he attempted to deliver what he intended to be a stinging rebuke of Trump’s historic accomplishments in Singapore on Tuesday. “This summit was much...

Former First Lady Michelle Obama offered herself as America’s “forever First Lady,” at a college signing day event at Temple University in Philadelphia on Wednesday. “We have such high hopes for you. See, I am not one of those doubters. I know that you have everything it takes to succeed,” Obama said. “I know you are me, and if I can be standing here as your forever First Lady, then you can do anything you put your mind to.”

Former Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore filed a complaint on Monday claiming he was the target of a political conspiracy ahead of the Alabama special election in December. Moore, a former judge, lost to Democrat Doug Jones in a special election to fill a Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Jones defeated Moore by about 20,000 votes ― or 1.5 percentage points. Controversy swirled around Moore in the final months of the campaign as several women came forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct, including allegations that he pursued and harassed teenage girls when he was in his...

Barbra Streisand thinks Hillary Clinton won in 2016: 'I've talked to senators from Michigan and Wisconsin' Hollywood may be a bubble, but Barbra Streisand is living in an alternate universe. In an interview with Variety, the acclaimed actress, a longtime Democratic donor and activist, revealed she's convinced Hillary Clinton actually defeated President Trump in 2016. "I really believe she won the election,” Streisand said.

The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA), a political fundraising group, touts the AGs as “the first line of defense” against Trump’s agenda. “The Trump administration has trouble understanding the rule of law and that’s the reason Democratic attorneys general are filing lawsuits and winning them,” Sean Rankin, DAGA’s executive director, told Fox News.

During President Obama's second term in office, Secretary of State John Kerry, like his boss and other members of the same peapod (Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Joe Biden, Chuck Hagel, etc.), liked to warn Israel about such things as its isolation and alienation if it did not agree to Arab demands to return to its pre-'67 war, '49 armistice lines (they were never borders) which made it an over-sized ghetto, 9-15 miles wide at its waist, where most of its population and infrastructure are located. President George W. Bush commented that Texas had driveways larger than that. I don't know about driveways, but I also don't doubt...
