Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis vowed Tuesday in his second inaugural address to fight to defend freedom and stand up against the “woke ideology” that has taken hold in cities and states across the country. “We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy,” Mr. DeSantis said. “We will not allow reality, facts and truth to become optional. We will never surrender to the woke mob. “Florida is where woke goes to die,” he said. Mr. DeSantis cruised to victory in the November election, winning by 19 points and leading a GOP lineup that won races up and down the ticket. The 44-year-old is...

I was born at the end of Gen X and the beginning of the Millennial Generation, and grew up in a middle class town. Life was good. Our home was modest but birthdays and Christmas were always generous, we went on yearly vacations, had 2 cars, and there was enough money for me to take dance classes and art lessons and be in Girl Scouts.

  • FR is run by cliquish Mods and Freepers that hurl insults and falsehoods who FB you if you don't agree.

The rules say "be considerate" most of the Freepers are anything but, constantly hurling innuendo, names, and insults. But it's my fault or something like that so my threads get pulled without any explanation. And then the mods call me "thick". That's considerate? I'm a rock solid conservative, retired, 24 year Army Vet, and still work for the Army. I'm a lifetime member of the VFW and NRA. I'm a 20 year contributor to FR and the mods wont even answer a question, but instead call me names and insult me.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday said the path forward for the legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare remains unclear, adding that he is unsure at the moment how such a measure will secure the requisite 50 votes from the GOP’s 52 senators. "I don't know how we get to 50 (votes) at the moment. But that's the goal,” McConnell (R-Ky.) told Reuters in an interview. He said passing a repeal-and-replace measure, a campaign promise of GOP lawmakers for more than seven years and a key plank of President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, remains a top priority. Work on...

A 911 operator told a teenage girl to "stop whining" just after her father was fatally struck by a car as he tried to change a flat tire along the Baltimore Washington Parkway in Maryland last weekend. The dispatcher has now been placed "in a position where he won't have citizen contact" while authorities investigate what happened, an Anne Arundel County fire official said Wednesday.

Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, believes Donald Trump is being treated unfairly by the mainstream media. Politico reports that she especially takes issue with the MSM’s obsession with the ‘birther issue.’ Palin, who’s been trading kind words with Trump in recent days, said on Fox News that the real estate mogul isn’t pushing the birther issue and would talk about more substantial issues — if only the press would let him. Reporters, she said, are “hammering [Trump] about the one issue that he has brought up and not been shy about — that’s the birth certificate. … He’s...

Dressing like your daughter doesn’t make you look hotter—just stupider. Creepy futurist/author Douglas Coupland once wrote that in the 1960s, everyone dressed as if they were 35 years old—but that by the ’90s, that age had dipped to 25. Alarmingly, it didn’t stop there, and one wonders if Coupland—were he not currently embroiled in increasingly weird artistic pursuits—might not notice that in the few years since he made his point, masses of adults have taken to dressing like 15-year-olds: a trend that, if it continues, should by the 2010s center on sippy cups and purple overalls. Men get partial credit...

I'm posting this in hopes of getting opinions and advice about my growing annoyance of being bombarded with loud hard rock music everywhere I go. It's in grocery stores, department stores, even dentists offices, and it's ALWAYS on TV, in practically every single commercial. What's worse, I got a job at a major chain department store that caters to mid-America. It's not Penny'S but it is on a par with Penny's/ The sotre plays mostly rock and roll all day long. At night it's nothing but hard rock. The Killers, Lynrd Skynrd, Blondie, Billie Idol, Swiftfoot, ZZ Top, and on...
  • "Impostors!" - the latest accusation trend.

It appears the latest popular way to discredit those who publish opposing views on forums is to accuse them of being impostors, not really who they claim to be, the same person posting under several names, as though no two people could possibly share the same opinions. This has happened on a variety of sites on the internet. Moderators find it an easy way of doing away with people they don't like who stay within the rules. Whether it is on a TV forum, or a political forum, the trend seems to be the same. TV Heaven, a while back,...

Animal neglect true reason for death of horse on movie set CNN reports, The horse was killed Monday during filming at the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center in the San Fernando Valley. According to the City of Los Angeles' Department of Animal Services, which conducted an investigation, the horse was running when it stepped on its own lead rope and broke its neck. Animal Services is ruling the death an accident. As someone who has owned and worked with horses his entire life I must tell you this case is most likely not an accident, but rather the result of cruel...

NEW YORK--And it came to pass that Republican Jesus met with His advisers, strategists and corporate cronies. He took them and withdrew apart to a deserted city called Bethesda. But the multitudes followed Him nonetheless. So Republican Jesus asked His cronies to build Him a great stadium where He could welcome members of the multitudes able to pay Him an admission fee and purchase vast quantities of licensed merchandise at exorbitant prices. He welcomed these people and sent off those who needed medical attention to a land called Canada. The light of the day began to wane, so His toadies...

Atheist sues to prevent prayer at Bush inauguration The Associated Press (Updated Thursday, January 6, 2005, 4:45 PM) SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - An atheist who sued because he did not want his young daughter exposed to the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is now filing a suit to bar the saying of a prayer at President Bush's inauguration. Michael Newdow, of Sacramento, notes that two ministers, the Reverend Franklin Graham and the Reverend Kirbyjon Caldwell, delivered Christian invocations at Bush's first inaugural ceremony in 2001.

Republicans look to new Senate leader to help repair Lott damage WASHINGTON - Republican senators are gathering by telephone to elect a new leader they hope will help repair the damage that Trent Lott's racially charged remarks have had on the party's efforts to court minority voters. Sen. Bill Frist (news, bio, voting record) of Tennessee, a White House favorite, emerged last week as the clear choice to replace Lott, who resigned from the leadership under pressure Friday. Sen. Chuck Hagel (news, bio, voting record) of Nebraska said Frist would be elected — "I suspect unanimously" — by the 51...
