Actors are strange folk and generally out of touch, but Matt Damon’s cluelessness about Donald Trump supporters might really take the Hollywood cake. The actor — known for “Good Will Hunting,” “Saving Private Ryan” and the “Bourne” franchise, among other roles — is an outspoken leftist even by the standards of Tinseltown who had to stoop to play a Trump supporter in his latest film, “Stillwater.” The movie sees him playing an oil rig worker whose daughter gets caught up in a European murder case a la Amanda Knox, according to Reuters. How do you play a Trump supporter? This...

BERKELEY, Calif. - Jane Stillwater is an unlikely war correspondent. She's 64, a self-described Berkeley "flower child, 40 years later" and broke. So how did this mother of four grown children end up in Baghdad, churning out commentary ranging from shock at Thursday's bombing of the Iraqi parliament cafeteria, to the weirdness of touring Saddam Hussein's bathroom? Inspired by a sense of outrage and determined to blog from inside the war zone, Stillwater ate peanut butter sandwiches for months to save up for a ticket to Kuwait. She got a small Texas newspaper to help her secure press accreditation, and...

For more than 50 years, my family has owned a home in Stillwater that has been the center of my mom's universe, a home where she raised children, a home that has provided shelter and comfort in our family's lives. A home she has recently completed remodeling and lovingly cared for with the hopes of staying in it for the rest of her life. A short paragraph in a cryptic certified letter stated, "The...

Tony Kohout's evening in a hot tub with five women turned political and ended with doctors stitching up his eyelid. Kohout ran into a group of women at Brine's Restaurant and Bar in Stillwater on May 24. He knew one of the women from high school. They let him join them in a hot tub at a home in Stillwater Township. For a while it was just the usual story of five high school friends chatting in a hot tub with a guy and some Amstel Light. "I thought, 'Wow, this is amazing,' " Kohout said. "Then it just kind...
