Steve Wells has conceded the 22nd Congressional District’s Republican Primary to Brandon Williams, who’s declared victory. Williams’ win is considered an upset because Wells was backed by the GOP committees in the counties of NY-22, had name recognition and more money. Williams also has the Conservative Party endorsement.

Republican New York Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney is mounting an anti-establishment campaign for the U.S. House seat in New York’s 22nd congressional district. Tenney’s Republican primary for the seat is Tuesday. She is running against businessman Steve Wells, whom Tenney is characterizing as an establishment Republican figure. Tenney says that the Establishment has already spent a million dollars in the primary race against her.
