Donald Trump plans to skip attending Saturday’s Colorado Republican State Convention at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs. Colorado State Republican Party Chairman Steve House told The Denver Post Wednesday that while discussions were happening for a Trump appearance, the plans ultimately collapsed. “He will not be attending,” Kyle Kohli, communications director for the state GOP told The Post. The state party will be electing 13 delegates to send to the Republican National Convention. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz managed to win six delegates already from Colorado.

State GOP Chairman Steve House said the change was made in response to a new Republican National Committee rule that would have made the presidential preference poll binding. The executive committee decided that would bring too much formality to the caucuses, which have drawn criticism in the past for being...

A fight within Colorado’s Republican Party that involves accusations of an extramarital affair and blackmail could have a ripple effect on future candidates and elections. The infighting involves big name Republicans in Colorado and it could have implications for not only statewide elections, but national races. Colorado is a swing state that will not only be key in deciding the presidency next year, but control of the U.S. Senate. “It’s an ugly, sticky, yucky situation,” said former Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo. Tancredo has been a magnet for controversy. He, Attorney General Cynthia Coffman and Pueblo GOP Chair Becky Mizel...

I write today to encourage your support of Steve House for Chairman of the State Republican Party. Steve formerly chaired the Adams County Republican Party and was a candidate for governor in 2014. As I worked alongside Steve, I saw a uniquely talented leader whose passion for conservatism and our party is infectious. His speeches are inspired and motivating. His ideas are forward thinking and common sense. I was so impressed that I asked Steve to speak on my behalf on the campaign trail. After my election as Attorney General, I brought Steve in to serve on my transition team....
