The news in Ohio shouldn’t be good for President Bush. In the past year, 33,000 more jobs have been lost. Family income, adjusted for inflation, has dropped since 2000. Poverty has increased; in fact, Cleveland has the highest poverty rate of any U.S. city. The war in Iraq is going badly with no end in sight. President George Bush secured a big bounce from his party convention, putting him in a commanding lead in the election race, according to a new poll. Mr Bush was 11 points ahead of his Democratic rival Senator John Kerry following the four day gathering of Republicans in New York City. Vice President Dick Cheney, fresh off this week's Republican National Convention in New York, will visit Columbus on Saturday. Cheney will speak to members of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment and their guests at a black tie affair at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. The event, dubbed the Rangers Ball, is not open to the public.
