A hate-filled brute punched a woman in the face in a Manhattan subway station over the weekend and told her he socked her because “you are Jewish,” according to police. The stranger walked up and clobbered the 29-year-old woman inside the 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station 7-train passageway around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, cops said. The shocked victim asked her attacker why he randomly slugged her when she did nothing to provoke him and he reportedly said his reason was “you are Jewish” and ran off, police said. The woman suffered minor injuries. Saturday’s attack comes as Hamas and...

Republican Sens. Mitt Romney and Mike Lee on Sunday said they were going into self-quarantine after being exposed to Sen. Rand Paul, who tested positive for the coronavirus. Both Utah lawmakers said they had been advised by doctors to isolate because of the amount of time they spent in proximity to Paul, of Kentucky, who announced his diagnosis on Sunday. Romney’s office added that the senator “has no symptoms but will be tested.”

With the military on the verge of allowing gay men and lesbians to serve openly, Army and Air Force officials have approved the distribution of a magazine targeting gay service members at bases starting next month. OutServe Magazine will hit store shelves at Army and Air Force bases on Sept. 20, the day the Pentagon plans to formally end enforcement of the “don’t ask, don'tI tell” policy that bans gays from serving openly. The publication is published by OutServe, a group of secretly gay active duty service members that says it has hundreds of members currently serving in Iraq and...

Barack Obama, a.k.a. "The radioactive President," has a plan to help Democrat Congressmen in their midmid term general election races: to stay away from their districts so they at least have a fighting chance of winning. When Obama met at The White House this week with nine Democrats in vulnerable districts, he reportedly said, “You may not even want me to come to your districts." No kidding. The change agent has changed his strategy from Obama all the time, to Obama on the back nine. When the politcal goings get tough, Obama will go golfing or anything other than giving...

I am planning a trip to Memphis in a few weeks with my family and wanted to see any of my FR brothers can give me some suggestions. I plan on going to the Rendezvous Restaurant for ribs but also want to hit a few other local attractions. Also, I wonder if there is any particular place to go for a more traditional slow smoked barbeque meal. My son is into history so anything historical may also be nice. Please feel free to make any suggestions that may be family approriate. My kids are 8 and 2. Thanks

MEXICO CITY — The Mexican clinic where Coretta Scott King died has been closed, U.S. Embassy officials said Friday. Mexican officials were not immediately available to explain why the Santa Monica Health Institute in the Mexican beach resort of Rosarito, 16 miles south of San Diego, was shut. Judith Bryan, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, said the U.S. consulate in Tijuana was helping patients find new facilities. King last week traveled to the beachside clinic. She was seeking treatment for advanced stage ovarian cancer and a stroke she suffered several months ago. The clinic specializes...

Sacramento -- Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Tuesday he wants President Bush to delay a planned October fundraising visit to California because the governor fears it will siphon off donations he needs to help his Nov. 8 special election measures. "In the next two months, it would be better if we just do the fundraising," Schwarzenegger said in an interview with The Chronicle. "Then let us go (past) our special election -- and then they can pick it up again, the (Republican) national committee." Schwarzenegger stressed that he and Bush have "a terrific relationship" and added, "the president is always...

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A coalition of anti-war activists have launched a national campaign, claiming that military recruiters are unfairly targeting minorities at high schools. The advocates plan to educate students and their parents "to keep our children from being cannon fodder," Rosalio Munoz, coordinator for Latinos for Peace, said during a news conference Monday in East Los Angeles. The groups made the announcement on the 35th anniversary of the Chicano Moratorium, a protest against the disproportionate number of Hispanics being killed in the Vietnam War. The 20,000-member march ended in a riot and the deaths of three people, including...
