NEW YORK — Jonathan M. Winer, the Obama State Department official who acknowledged regularly interfacing with the author of the controversial, largely discredited 35-page anti-Trump dossier, served as senior vice president of a firm that did lobbying work for Tenex, the U.S. subsidiary of Rosatom, the Russian state corporation headquartered in Moscow. In 2010, Rosatom infamously purchased a controlling stake in Uranium One, the Canadian uranium mining company with operations in the U.S. The purchase was approved by the Obama administration in a decision that is currently being probed by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

It’s always an interesting exercise to take new and confirmed information and go back to see the claims from the key stakeholders when the initial trail of the information was discovered. This is one such example from July 2017.

The Clinton fingerprints on the Clinton-Steele dossier are getting greasier with every new revelation. Not that this is much of a revelation by now. It's just a confirmation of what most people already knew. Behind the manufactured scandal of the Clinton-Steele dossier were too familiar names from Clintonworld, Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer.,,, The State Department had been Hillary's playpen for years. And she had staffed it with her own loyalists. Hillary Clinton had even wanted to bring in Sidney Blumenthal, but Rahm Emanuel had allegedly put his foot down. And it now appears that the State Department conveyed material...

Cardin to Undermine Trump Andrew McCabe, FBI #2 Official, Forced Out Judicial Watch Sues for Russia Collusion FISA Documents The House memo released today makes a compelling case that the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) court was misled and severely abused by top officials in the Justice Department and FBI. Rather than relying upon dueling summary memos from Republicans and Democrats, the American people should be able to see for themselves the details of how the Obama administration officials (and...

Washington (CNN)House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes hinted Friday that there would be additional memos released regarding the committee's investigation into alleged abuse of FISA warrants -- and the next one may look at the State Department. (snip) "We are in the middle of what I call 'phase two' of our investigation, which involves other departments," Nunes said. "Specifically the State Department and some of the involvement they had in this."

As part of their broad effort to distract from the Trump-Russia investigation and undermine its foundation, President Trump’s allies in Congress seek any way to discredit the now famous “dossier” authored by former British spy Christopher Steele, including by tying it or him to the Obama administration. Their latest target for guilt by association is the State Department under John Kerry. The suggestion by Trump allies is that somehow Kerry’s State Department was involved in the compilation or distribution of the dossier, an allegation for which there is zero direct evidence. While it’s true that Steele did have connections to...

Last November, Breitbart reported that a State Department Charge' d' Affaires, David Kostelancik, had awarded $700,000 to Hungarian media hostile to their Conservative Government, in order to promote "democracy and human rights programming," ahead of next spring's Hungarian election. The obvious intent, in the arrogant intrusion, being to punish Hungarians for refusing to allow their country to be invaded by "immigrants" with no ties to traditional Hungarian values. The report detailed the logical anger, of the Hungarian Government, at Kostelancik's flagrant attempt to meddle in their internal affairs. It also described the same rogue diplomat's previously expressed attack on President...

Congressional investigations into the Trump dossier have so far been focused on the FBI and Justice Department. They still are, but now investigators are also looking into a possible Obama State Department role in the collection and dissemination of sensational and still-unverified allegations against candidate Donald Trump gathered by a former British spy working for the Hillary Clinton campaign. In addition to having contacts in the Obama Justice Department and FBI, that former spy, Christopher Steele, was also well-connected with the Obama State Department. A book published in November by a correspondent at the Guardian, "Collusion: Secret meetings, dirty money,...

A year ago, in the final days of the Obama presidency, my colleagues and I in his administration were racing against time. The intelligence community had already concluded that Russia interfered in our 2016 election. We were determined to use our remaining time to discover how Russia had done so—since we had no idea then whether Congress or the FBI would mount a proper inquiry—and to ensure that our still limited knowledge would survive any attempts by the Trump administration and its allies in Congress to bury what had already been discovered. One day last January, I hand-carried to key...

Senator Rubio on Tuesday convened and fiercely led the first public hearing demanding answers for what appears to have been a systematic and targeted attack on American diplomats working in Cuba possibly by the Cuban government.State Department officials were grilled before the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee for both answers on the attack and the apparently slow response to investigating and taking countermeasures against it. In overseeing the hearing, Senator Rubio did a remarkable job in beginning to find out exactly what happened and how we can ensure the Castro government does not swat us around and so brazenly prey on...

All five states -- Tamaulipas on the U.S. border and Sinaloa, Colima, Michoacan and Guerrero on the Pacific coast -- are hotspots of drug cartel activity, either hosting trafficking routes or extensive drug-crop cultivation. The new warning system designates the states as a "level 4" risk, the highest level of potential danger. Mexico as a whole has a level 2 rating, meaning Americans should "exercise increased caution" because of concerns about crime. But an additional 11 Mexican states got a level 3 warning Wednesday, which urges people to "reconsider travel" there. Mexico has 31 states in all. Those states where...

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, a rising star in the Republican Party, appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight Friday evening and sounded optimistic that Americans may finally see Hillary Clinton end up behind bars for “bribery” and “money laundering” among potentially other crimes. Rep. Gaetz detailed the accusations against Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation which he asserts is a “money laundering operation” and that Hillary, while heading Obama’s State Department, may have provided cover-up for the Hezbollah terrorist drug-running operation in the United States, an operation Obama refused to legally pursue in order to provide favor to Iranian mullahs...

Huma Abedin forwarded sensitive State Department emails, including passwords to government systems, to her personal Yahoo email account before every single Yahoo account was hacked, a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis of emails released as part of a lawsuit brought by Judicial Watch shows. Abedin, the top aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, used her insecure personal email provider to conduct sensitive work. This guarantees that an account with high-level correspondence in Clinton’s State Department was impacted by one or more of a series of breaches — at least one of which was perpetrated by a “state-sponsored actor.”...
