A teen’s self-incriminating Tweet — “My hands hurts (sic) from last night” — helped Transit cops link the student to last week’s vicious beating of an MBTA bus driver by a group of young thugs, a prosecutor told a judge yesterday. Albert Kemmory Galloway Jr., 18, was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail at his Dorchester District Court arraignment after his arrest on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — a shod foot — and interfering with a bus driver. Andre McGeehan, Galloway’s lawyer, asked Baylor to release her client on personal recognizance, saying...

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police were on alert in Brooklyn on Tuesday night for another round of violence stemming from a deadly officer-involved shooting. Just like on Monday night, crowds gathered to protest the weekend police-involved shooting of what cops said was an armed 16-year-old boy. As CBS 2’s Dick Brennan reported, Tuesday’s crowd was largely peaceful, but there was pushing, shoving and shouting and one arrest. The crowd marched down Church Avenue in East Flatbush, to the 67th Precinct. The residents expressed themselves with loud, profanity-laced chants denouncing police practices, 1010 WINS’ Sonia Rincon reported.

A vigil for a teenager fatally shot by cops turned into a riot in Brooklyn last night, as a mob of outraged thugs ransacked stores, broke car windows and assaulted residents in East Flatbush. The chaos erupted after about 200 people gathered to mourn 16-year-old Kimani “Kiki” Gray, a reputed Bloods gang member who was shot after pulling a gun on police Saturday. The teen had a rap sheet that included four prior arrests, including on charges of grand larceny and possession of stolen property. Gray was a ranking member of the Bloods gang, a law-enforcement source said, and his...

President Barack Obama said if he had a son, he would have to think "long and hard" before he let him play football and suggested he--along with other football fans--watches football against his conscience. "I'm a big football fan, but I have to tell you if I had a son, I'd have to think long and hard before I let him play football," Obama said. In an interview with the left-of-center New Republic, Obama said football will "probably change gradually to try to reduce some of the violence" and that may allow fans to not have to "examine our consciences...

Police say three teens charged in the fatal shooting of a western Pennsylvania woman targeted her after she told them to "get a job" when she saw them trying to bum a cigarette off her boyfriend. Beaver Falls police have charged 14-year-olds Todavia Cleckley and Marcus Velasquez and Kyle Goosby Jr., 13, with criminal homicide and other charges in Saturday's shooting of Kayla Peterson, 22. She was shot at about 3:30 p.m. that day and died in a Pittsburgh hospital two hours later. Goosby is in custody and his attorney says he was just "in the wrong place at the...

The 25-year-old Gary man accused of the May 19 murder of a Schererville waitress is a convicted cocaine dealer. Stephen Lee Henderson, who is still at large and considered armed and dangerous, was arrested by Hammond Police in 2007 for cocaine dealing. He pleaded guilty in 2009 and received a six-year sentence. Typically, Indiana offenders serve half their sentence. Hammond police arrested Henderson in 2007 for cocaine possession, but that charge was dismissed. Indiana State Police arrested him for speeding in 2008. He failed to show up for a court appearance and a judge suspended his driver’s license. Henderson and...

I just love this one. Damn .. I wish there had been security cameras to record this for prosperity. The locale is Jacksonville, North Carolina. Now if you know Jacksonville, NC, you will know that this is not the place you want to screw around with people you aren’t all that familiar with. They train throat slitters there. Not the bad kind … the good kind. The kind that wear the uniforms of the U.S. Marine Corps (or, as Obama would pronounce it, “corpse”) and the U.S. Army. So here we have these two pretty perps, Maurice and Diego ---...

BIRMINGHAM - AL - Family and friends are in mourning, the funeral service was held at Living Stone Temple church, community members tell me they're not too happy that no arrests have been made. During the service, Walkers family was overcome with emotion during the ceremony and had to step outside. Many mourners wore red, black and white t-shirts with walker's picture saying "In loving memory of Tez". Dr. Al B. Sutton Jr. led a sermon preaching out the book of mark and had a direct message to young adults as well as the parents in the building. "Our son's,...

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Shortly after holding a press conference this afternoon to say that authorities are not giving her the information she deserves about the shooting death of her 13-year-old son, Latonya Walker met with Jefferson County District Attorney Brandon Falls. Falls said Walker had not contacted him before she and community activist Frank Matthews held today's press conference. Falls said he met with her and Matthews today for 45 minutes. Normally, Falls said, the DA's office will not contact family members after a decision made not to file charges in a case. They never meet with family's of defendants...

Longtime friend Timerie Gordon said those who knew Collins were "very angry and sad and trying to make sense of something that will never be sensible." Collins, 38, co-owner of Camouflage on Pacific Avenue, was walking back from a hairdresser's appointment when police say she was "savagely" attacked about 11:50 a.m. on the 300 block of Broadway. Minutes later, after a number of calls to 911, police arrested 43-year-old Charles Anthony Edwards III of San Francisco...

At least when people are attacked by black mobs for being white it will be reported by the local media — provided the victims work for a newspaper. From Norfolk, Virginia: "Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim. The victim’s friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third...
