Open Carry at an Arizona Gas Station A poster at opencarry.org, Southern Covenanter, recounts an ironic experience in Charlotte, South Carolina.    From opencarry.org: I made it a point to stop and meet my parents for lunch in Pineville while I was passing through town, and after I left, I stopped at the QT on Woodlawn Road (right off I-77 where Woodlawn turns into Billy Graham Parkway) to gas up the Blue Bullet. This QT is in a somewhat sketchy part of town, so I was already on high alert when I pulled up to the pump. About the...

Concepts of forced marriages, honor killings, Jihad, as well as self-segregation are fundamentally un-Canadian and should not be tolerated When Trudeau père sold Canadians the conceit of multiculturalism as a workable societal foundation, most people eagerly bought in. After all, what harm can there be in turning the drab Canadian mangia cake uniformity into a colorful, spicy multinational quilt? The upside includes wondrous, redolent, zesty foods; quaint customs and celebrations that turn the old homogeneity into a vibrant heterogeneous stew of warmth and mutual respect. Of course, there were those who warned that the concept was pretty far-fetched and not...

Father John Hunwicke writes, "The Holy Father has criticised the fault of 'wanting to close oneself within the written word, and not allowing oneself to be surprised by God, by the God of surprises; within the law, within the certitude of what we know and not of what we still need to learn and to achieve'. (He went on to make balancing criticisms of other and contrary attitudes.) When the first wave of Ordinariate clergy were being 'formed' at Allen Hall, our teaching was solidly, insistently, based upon the Conciliar and post-Conciliar Magisterium. This meant the written words of Vatican...

Around a year ago, this column ran a piece entitled “Whatever Happened To Science?” As Baby Boomers will recall, during our early youth, our little heads were crammed full of the promise of Science: Abundant cheap electrical power; the discovery of the structure of DNA would (somehow) lead to curing every disease, and the polio vaccine seemed to demonstrate this; our soaring postwar economy could easily fund ever more dramatic breakthroughs. But then, as the 1960s dawned, reality set in. An extraordinary number of people were dying of heart disease, and good old Watson & Crick (or Salk & Sabin)...

The Democrats have been preparing the way for today’s “lone wolf” terror attacks for fifty years. For five decades they have been conditioning minorities especially Blacks and more recently Hispanics to hate and resent the larger White Christian influence in America. Starting with Lyndon Johnson, Democrats have ripped up Black families. They have blackmailed African American women by telling them to separate from their men under threat of losing the benefits, Democrats have made necessary for their survival. Today intact Black families are few and far between except on television. Black men, and now Hispanic men, have been chased out...

You can see from the above that Russia has about twice as many homicides per hundred thousand as the United States, even though Russia has very restrictive laws on possession and carrying of firearms. The above chart was created from UNODC data. If you look at the chart below created by ABC, the United States seems to be an outlier.  No data is given for Russia, and the Y axis mentions that it is only for gun related homicides.   The large header leaves out the word "Gun".  These are serious clues that the chart is designed to mislead. Only...

Like most Americans, I suffer from a bad case of Ignorantia Febris Ebola, or Ebola Ignorance.  When Ebola first hit American shores, my gut instinct was to simply ban travel from the affected countries, or at least quarantine travelers for 21 days.  I wrote “I’m all for preventing a panic, but a panic is what we will get if we don’t get this situation in hand quickly.” The media-fed panic we are seeing (and it’s not a true panic, more a malaise or angst) is the result of the rapid spread of Ebola Ignorance, which has an R0 value of...
  • The police-detecting Target Blu Eye device; Police see red over gizmo that blows their cover

IT COULD be every crook’s must-have gadget — a device that can warn when a police car is nearby. The small dashboard-mounted display alerts the driver by bleeping and lighting up when it senses police radio transmissions. It also reveals when ambulances and fire engines are near. The maker claims that it is useful for telling drivers that an emergency vehicle needs to overtake. Target Blu Eye has its critics, who predict that the device will be used by irresponsible drivers to make sure that the coast is clear while they speed or use mobile phones. Out on the motorway...

When confronted by an armed criminal, common advice for an armed citizen has been to evaluate the threat.   If complying with the criminal, such as giving them money, a cell phone, or other items, is evaluated as low risk, it may be best to comply.   The evaluation is often stated something like this:  Does it appear that your assailant is going to seriously harm or kill you, or do you believe that they will simply leave? If you believe that they are going to kill you in any case, then pick your best chance of resistance and...
  • Charles Barkley Slams ‘Unintelligent,’ ‘Brainwashed’ Black People

News One For Black America ^ | October 26, 2014 | Kirsten West Savali
No stranger to controversial statements, NBA Hall of Famer turned sports commentator, Charles Barkley, blamed stagnation in the Black community on “brainwashed” Black people too “unintelligent” to choose education over street credibility. During an appearance on Philadelphia’s “Afternoons with Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis” radio show, Sir Charles responded to a Bleacher Report article claiming that teammates of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson felt that he wasn’t “Black enough.” Seahawks’ cornerback Richard Sherman denied the locker room racism, telling CBS Sports, “Nobody in here said that. It’s made up.” Wilson also brushed off the story, saying, “Black enough? I don’t...

A media source in Omaha is breaking a story.   Students can pose with guns for their senior portraits. The school board members did not think this was a controversial decision, along with 90 percent of the American public.   They voted for it 6-0.   I am surprised that it even came up for a vote. Perhaps I should not be, in our ever increasingly politically correct public schools, where nearly all initiative and responsibility have been taken from school boards and teachers by teachers unions and federal and state regulations.   Administrators are terrified to make any decision that might run...

Unless western leaders find courage to stand against Islamists by blocking them from lax immigration entry, the mourning breaking the hearts of a watching citizenry has only just begun In Western Nations the mourning of innocents lost to terrorism has only begun Terrorism run rampant is the most tragic price the masses of all Western nations pay because Western leaders long ago succumbed to the control of the despicable go-along-to-get-along rules of the politically correct. There can be little doubt that Canada’s two terrorist attacks over a two-day span were a long time coming. In fact, the build up of...

Michael Gungor, of the Christian worship band Gungor, stepped into a wasp’s nest of criticism and controversy by his comments a few months ago that he doesn’t believe in a literal creation, or in the great flood, or Noah.  In fact, he believes that God-directed evolution is the means our Creator used to bring forth species upon the earth. Meh.  By itself, such a comment is disagreeable to my own beliefs, but not on its face heretical or worthy of disfellowship.  The fact that Gungor has a hit band in the Christian world has no bearing on my opinion. Michael...

We live in dangerous and stressful times. The margin for error in our fight for the survival of America is very small. The number of people willing to surrender their genuine freedoms for a little faux security is growing. We are a strong and resilient people but even the strongest die eventually. We who pull the American wagon and recognize that nothing worth anything is free, especially our precious liberty, can only go on just so long. The whiney and the greedy are not our friends regardless of who they are or claim to be. It is, therefore, an unfortunate...

This installment continues by exposing how Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt was surrounded by Communists and moves into the Truman Administration. Harry Truman was a Klu Klux Klansman and a pure Democrat hack . Helen Barrett Tenney was a Democrat and a Communist. Tenney was an employee of the Soviet spy system for many years before she joined the Roosevelt Administration’s Office of War Information from where she sent many reports to her Soviet spy handlers who paid her $50.00 a month for her work. [48] William Ludwig Ullmann was a Democrat and a Communist. Ullmann was hired into Roosevelt’s National...

Black bears are large, potentially dangerous animals.  A retired wildlife officer was forced to shoot one in his Florida home on 22 October, in Lake County. The bear broke though a window and entered the home.   When the man yelled at it, it turned and came toward him.  That is when he fired, at a distance that he estimated at 10 feet. From wftv.com: “I was very scared. I figured when I yelled it would take off, but it didn’t. It just looked right at me and started coming toward the window, where I was at, so that’s when...

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke candidly about the problems facing the black community when appearing on a Philadelphia radio station, accusing “unintelligent,” “brainwashed” African-Americans of keeping successful ones down. While appearing on “Afternoons with Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis,” Barkley was asked about a rumor that Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was getting criticism from his black teammates for not being, quote, “black enough.” Barkley went on a long monologue on the subject: ”Unfortunately, as I tell my white friends, we as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because...

I will not go quietly. I have not forgotten, nor will I abandon, the values of freedom and self reliance instilled in me, nor will I hush my voice. Socialism be forewarned, I am not going away I published and emailed a short letter the day following the election of Barack Obama for a second term in 2012 in answer to a friend’s question, “What do we do now?” A few asked me if I was going to give up up my fight to help save our Constitutional Republic. Needless to say, I was saddened and very disheartened. I still...
