U.S. District Court Judge John F. Heil has ruled that an Oklahoma state law banning sex-change procedures on children was constitutional and therefore could be enforced. The ruling on Oct. 5, 2023, came as a result of a motion for injunctive relief to restrain the state from implementing the law.Five young people identifying as transgender and in some degree of transition, their parents or legal guardians, and a health care provider are the plaintiffs in the case. The defendant is Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond, a Republican. In an email to The Epoch Times, Mr. Gentner's press secretary, Leslie Berger, stated: "The Attorney...

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz accused top U.S. military officials of behaving like “social workers” in Iraq and Syria rather than showing military strength. In an interview Tuesday night with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Mr. Cruz said he was disappointed by responses from Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Martin Dempsey after he questioned them at a Senate hearing on the administration’s plan to defeat the Islamic State. “Frankly, their answers were far more those you would expect of a social worker, than of military leaders,” Mr. Cruz said. The Republican senator, who is considering a...

U.S. Army sociologists are worried that a lack of black officers leading its combat troops will have detrimental effect on minorities and lead to fewer black officers in top leadership posts. “The issue exists. The leadership is aware of it,” Brig. Gen. Ronald Lewis told USA Today on Thursday. “The leadership does have an action plan in place. And it’s complicated.” The Army reports that only 10 percent of its active-duty officers are black, which has contributed to its dearth of black officers leading soldiers with occupational specialties in infantry, armor and artillery. “It certainly is a problem for several...

Women will begin serving on four U.S. submarines in December 2011, the U.S. Navy announced Thursday. Twenty-four are in training to be the first women to serve aboard U.S. submarines, the Navy's Submarine Group 10 said in a statement. The subs on which they will deploy are the USS Wyoming and USS Georgia, both homeported in Kings Bay, Georgia, and the USS Ohio and USS Maine, homeported in Bangor, Washington. The Navy said it will not identify the women until they have completed their submarine training. The 24, chosen from graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy, ROTC programs and Officer...

A certain kind of mind believes that human beings exist as objects to be experimented upon as society is perfected by the privileged class -- a utopia engineered by elites. There's a reason why Engels called it Scientific Socialism. Thomas Sowell alluded to it when he wrote: "The grand delusion of contemporary liberals is that they have both the right and the ability to move their fellow creatures around like blocks of wood -- and that the end results will be no different than if people had voluntarily chosen the same action." But Sowell's insight tells only half the story....

I was just driving down Overland Avenue is West Los Angeles and what did I see? Four seperate sets of women in full-blown burquas. They were the blue type that is commonly seen in Afganistan...with faces fully covered. I am very rattled by this and do not like it one bit. Am I proposing a ban on such things? Of course not. Yet I'm forced to wonder, is this just the beginning? I've read stories on Free Republic that describe parts of Paris where non-muslim women are required to wear burquas...or be harrased and/or beaten. Is this where are "tollerance"...
