Chaos erupted in the Mission District of San Francisco, where more than 100 people, mostly minors, were arrested at the annual 'Dolores Hill Bomb' skateboarding event. Hundreds took over Dolores Street to ride their skateboards - or anything with wheels - down a huge hill near Dolores Street. Officers described the event as unpermitted, non-sanctioned and one that has previously taken over streets and caused mass property damage. Footage from the Saturday event shows large crowds cheering as children and adults furiously rolled down the steep descent - some flying off their boards and hitting the pavement only to get...

One man died after being shot in the head and a second man died after being shot in the chest. Grosskreutz had a gun in his hand when he ran up to Rittenhouse, so in self defense, the 17-year-old discharged his weapon, blew off part of Grosskreutz’s arm, saving his own life. This first...

A 2-mile stretch of the road - in an unincorporated area of north Santa Clarita - was shut down after a slide began pushing up the asphalt on Nov. 19. Since the road closed, skateboarders have apparently been attracted to the steeply sloping roadway. Photos from the area show skaters airborne atop the broken asphalt, and one skater reported many people at the site over the weekend. The unusual sight was an attraction for photographers as well, social media posts appeared to indicate. On Tuesday, the county Department of Public Works tweeted a photo showing the damaged road fenced off,...

LAS VEGAS -- "It is a place that worships momentum and mocks inertia, craves acceleration and condemns lethargy. All angle and pitch, slope and slant, it is a place of dry pools and concrete runways, of mad ramps and half-pipes. No one ever told Aaron Fotheringham it was a place he shouldn't enter, or didn't belong in. After all, he did the same things -- spinning and rising, falling and crashing - every other skateboarder and BMX rider did. Aaron Fotheringham had wheels. His were just a little different than the others. "People call it wheelchair skateboarding," he says with...

An Unusual Event Over South Wales Credit & Copyright: Jon Burnett Explanation: Jon Burnett, a teenager from South Wales, UK, was photographing some friends skateboarding last week when the sky did something very strange. By diverting his camera, he was able to document this rare sky event and capture one of the more spectacular sky images yet recorded. Roughly one minute later, he took another picture of the dispersing trial. What is it? Experts disagree. The first guess was a sofa-sized rock that exploded as a daytime fireball, but perhaps a better hypthesis is an unusual airplane contrail reflecting the...
