If I understand the Ugandan pastors correctly, and if their view of the bill is closer to its actual legal meaning, then Rick Warren and others would be wrong, as it seems the bill is actually about:

1. sexual battery (rape) of a minor (under AGE 18) is made gender neutral and would, under the bill, apply to boys in Uganda, as it always has to girls in Uganda, and

2. if the offender was HIV positive, then the offense would be a capital offense, which is NOT inappropriate, in as much as the offender has already passed a “life sentence” onto the individual they passed HIV to.

If the thrust of the bill is directed to those under the age of 18, then one could say it is being generous, in that it expects an adult, unlike a minor, cannot plead innocence in choosing to not know the HIV status of a sexual partner. The bill appears to insure that a minor IS legally immune for that stupidity and their adult sexual partners are liable for it.

(f) would fill the bill. That would seem to enable marking someone as guilty of “Aggravated homosexuality” if they simply maintain a homosexual relationship with a consenting adult.

I do salute Dr. Mohler for his principled stand.

Our American founding fathers hung sodomites by their necks, until they were dead. As they followed so closely behind the Puritans, Huguenots, and the like, they were real Protestants and not so cavalier.

The sodomite lobby rejects entirely the concept of statutory rape. The 1972 Sodomite Rights Platform calls for the abolition of age of consent laws. Paedophiles are disproportionately represented in the Sodomite “community”.

Of all the injustices in the world, this strikes me as an odd one for Rick Warren. Perhaps he is believing too many of his own press releases.

Most recently, on Thursday, evangelical Pastor Rick Warren released a video to Ugandan pastors detailing his opposition to the bill and correcting media reports that state otherwise.
