As RedState reported, Tucker Carlson returned to the public sphere on Tuesday with his first official Twitter episode. That came after the once top-rated cable news host was fired by Fox News.Demand for Carlson’s new show was so high that some had trouble getting it to play at first, but when they did, it became obvious he was only escalating his already straight-ahead style. In a relatively short 10-minute monologue, the topics ranged from Ukraine to Lindsey Graham to Nikki Haley, and none of them were paid any compliments.Carlson’s words already have many on the left and the right melting...

[Catholic Caucus] Miraculous Crucifix Ruined at Pope Francis’ Urbi et Orbi Centuries-old wood 'explodes' after exposure to pouring rain VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - A "miraculous crucifix," which survived a fire in 1519 and halted the great plague of Rome in 1522, has suffered potentially irreparable damage after being exposed to pouring rain for over two hours during Pope Francis' special Urbi et Orbi blessing in St. Peter's Square on Friday. The wood on the sculpture tumefied and "exploded" as the rainwater penetrated the priceless work of art. The stuccos in various places used to plaster-coat the body of Jesus were severely eroded and much of the ancient...

OK, this...is CNN. Meaning CNN could go even lower, drilling through the rock to fall into some netherworld. Though the original tweet has been deleted, the question and quote remain in the original article. (The Daily Show's Amber Ruffin, among others, captured the original in all its unglory.)

Former FBI Director James Comey is challenging a subpoena from House Republicans for his closed-door testimony in federal court. Court records show that Comey filed a motion in federal court in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to quash a subpoena from the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees for his testimony on Dec. 3. Comey has previously said that he would welcome testifying in public but would fight the subpoena for a closed-door appearance

The dab is dead until further notice. There would be no dabbing on this night for Cam Newton -- the biggest night of his NFL career, a night when the Panthers superstar was attempting to complete one of the greatest seasons a quarterback has ever delivered. As it does for every team that loses the Super Bowl, the end came in an almost violent abruptness. Broncos 24, Panthers 10 in Super Bowl 50 Sunday night at Levi's Stadium sucked the life from every one of the Carolina players, but none more than Newton, who'd been so brilliant all season. Newton,...
  • Weidman KO's Silva to take title

Chris Weidman sent a shock wave through mixed martial arts, stopping Anderson Silva in the second round of the main event at UFC 162 to become the new middleweight champion on Saturday night. Silva talked, taunted and dared Weidman to engage him. When the champion lowered his hands early in the second round, Weidman caught him with a short left that sent the MMA star to the mat. Weidman pounced and landed a few more shots that forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight at 1:18

Oh my heavens--Debra Burlingame who lost her brother on 9-11 and met with Obama today at Ground Zero is on Hannity's show and she says he was being trailed by a videographer with a still and video camera while meeting and hugging the 9-11 victims families today. No press cameras were allowed, but Obama had his own cameras there. This whole thing was nothing but the filming of a campaign commercial for Obama. That's why he did this, to tape a campaign spot. Can you imagine anything more disgusting and craven?

~ EXCERPT ~ David Beamer, father of 9/11 victim Todd Beamer on FOX News: "I feel some chagrin now, though, about how the rest of it has been handled. And frankly it started May Day, 2011 when the president announced what had happened. The excessive use of the personal pronoun that he used in his remarks, I really felt that was the beginning of the Commander-in-Chief putting too much spotlight on himself, taking too much credit for what the remarkable Americans had done.

Liveshot ‘swift-boated’ again! By Howie Carr | Sunday, July 25, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists Forget “Isabel” - Liveshot Kerry should rename his $7 million sloop “The Botched Joke.” You remember that was how he tried to explain away his nasty little dig at the military, back in 2006, saying that if kids don’t study hard, they’ll end up in Iraq. He said it was a botched joke. So I wonder how Liveshot is trying to explain this latest botched joke to his ancient gold-digging bride in her $9.2 million mansion on Brant Point in Nantucket. Lovey, they’re swift-boating me...

The original Broadway production was a huge success, playing over 500 performances. The show embarked on a nation-wide tour after it completed its Broadway run in 1929. EFFORTS by Hollywood actor Sean Penn to aid New Orleans victims stranded by Hurricane Katrina foundered badly overnight, when the boat he was piloting to launch a rescue attempt sprang a leak. Penn had planned to rescue children waylaid by Katrina's flood waters, but apparently forgot to plug a hole in the bottom of the vessel, which began taking water within seconds of its launch. The actor, known for his political activism, was seen wearing what appeared to be a white flak jacket and frantically bailing water out of the sinking vessel with a red plastic cup. When the boat's...

Emergency aid workers were summoned to Capitol Hill today when Senate Majority Leader, Tom Daschle bloodied his nose and nearly detatched his "Hair Club For Men" extensions on a record-setting sprint to the Senate floor. No aides or Senate other personnel were injured as the speedy Senator from South Dakota blew past tourists, lobbyists and startled interns on his race to denounce the decision by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that the Pledge of Allegiance is "unconstitutional", thereby depriving Republicans of a campaign issue against the Donkey Party this fall. Unfortunately, Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) was hit by a Daschle...
