Shepard Smith, once a star anchor at Fox News, made headlines last year when he abruptly left the network. Now, his highly anticipated — and heavily promoted — new show at CNBC is falling behind repeats of Fox Business show Lou Dobbs Tonight. Since its launch on September 30, CNBC’s The News with Shepard Smith has presented a sleek hard news program with big name guests like Dr. Anthony Fauci — all while facing a continued decline in viewership.

(CNN)President Donald Trump revived his public criticism of Dr. Anthony Fauci Tuesday morning, continuing his efforts to undermine the infectious disease expert even as the doctor said he's not going to bow to pressure. Trump contended in the tweet that Fauci's pitching arm -- a reference to his poor first pitch at Nationals Park -- is "far more accurate than his prognostications." Fauci's recommendations and assessments have largely been in line with public health experts throughout the coronavirus pandemic but not aligned with what the President perceives his political interests to be. On Monday, Fauci said he is not deterred...

Liberal media outlets were thrilled at Shepard Smith's first public remarks since abruptly leaving Fox News last month. Smith hosted a dinner of the Committee to Protect Journalists, and proclaimed he was donating a half million dollars to the group. Michael Grynbaum at The New York Times reported he called "for a steadfast defense of independent journalism, while offering a few subtle barbs at President Trump’s treatment of the press." Subtle? “Intimidation and vilification of the press is now a global phenomenon. We don’t have to look far for evidence of that,” Smith said. “Our belief a decade ago that...

In a shocking turn of events that stunned the media industry, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith announced his departure from the network after more than 23 years. Smith is one of the faces of the network's news division and one of its most important journalistic assets. The decision was Smith's, Fox News said. "Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave FOX News and begin a new chapter," Smith said. "After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small town Mississippi have been many. It’s been an honor and a privilege to...

Fox News chief anchor Shepard Smith on Wednesday disputed President Trump’s recent remarks about border wall construction, saying on air that "there is no new wall." Smith's remarks were in response to a tweet from the president that said the wall is "going up very fast." "So far, despite the president's claims to the contrary, there is no new wall," Smith said. "Existing barriers have been replaced. Same span. The total of repaired barrier is about 60 miles along that 2,000-mile border." "The president also said in the tweet that the wall is going up rapidly. It is not. As...

Shepard Smith may report some items that anger viewers of Fox News Channel, but that hasn’t kept the 21st Century Fox-owned cable-news outlet from keeping him in its lineup. Fox News said Thursday that it signed the anchor to a new multi-year deal.

Shepard Smith, a Fox News anchor since 1996, revealed last week that he had no intention of opening up about his sexuality the way he did during an April speech at his alma mater.Speaking at a conference, Smith was tapped to talk on a panel titled “It Starts With MEek,†one that was meant to promote inclusivity and diversity. According to a report made by the Clarion-Ledger, Smith changed his speech at the last minute to reflect the crux of the conversation and decided to tell his own story of inclusivity and diversity.“It wasn’t until seven, or eight, or nine...

For many viewers, this came as no surprise, but for many FOX conservative loyalists, this latest news would have come as a shock. FOX News host Shepard Smith joins other high-profile gay cable news anchors like CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon. A number of high-profile media critics including top-rated talk radio host Michael Savage, have recently raised the alarm that FOX News is undergoing a liberal facelift following the departure of its news head Roger Ailes over a number sexual harassment cases.

There are any number of people qualified to warn you about the dangers of hurricanes. A college dropout with two hundred dollar hair sitting in a studio in New York City is not one of them. But here's Shepard Smith embarrassing himself even by the already low standards of his miserable profession by squeezing one more ounce of drama from a natural disaster while treating people under threat from it with contempt. Shepard Smith went full Anchorman. That was a terrible idea. But then again Shepard Smith is a terrible idea. But at least his terrible on air persona has...

Video Fox News anchor made startling predictions about the destruction Hurricane Matthew may cause as it continues along the east coast of America. Popular presenter Shep Smith used strong words to implore Florida residents to evacuate before disaster strikes. He said: "This moves 20 miles to the west, and you and everyone you know are dead — all of you — because you can't survive it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tbh0thQQsvI Look, Hurricane Matthew is going to be bad. Real bad. It's currently a Category 4, and there's a good chance it will be the strongest hurricane to hit the mid- and upper-Atlantic Coast of Florida in years. There will be extensive property damage. The Kennedy Space Center is at serious risk. There's a danger Zika could spread like wildfire in the aftermath. If residents stay, they are putting themselves in extreme peril. Fox News' Shepard Smith just made that abundantly clear on air. Let's go to the videotape: Shep is a Florida Man himself—or at least set up shop...

Fox News' Shepard Smith strayed from the Fox News script today while interviewing Wall Street Journal reporter James Grimaldi following Hillary Clinton's Reno, Nevada speech. Actually that's putting it mildly. Smith crashed through the barrier of at least putting up the appearance of neutrality and broke into the realm of flat out bias of the worst sort by charging Donald Trump with racism. If you think I am exaggerating, watch the following video of the exchange for yourself and you be the judge.

I happened to catch a jaw-dropping incident on the Fox News Channel air yesterday, as Shepard Smith’s breaking news coverage of the Baton Rouge police ambush brought on Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal for telephone comments. In the course of attempting to heal the raw nerves, Gov. Jindal said “all lives matter” and was rebuked by the crew-cut newsman. Kristinn Taylor of Gateway Pundit captured the exchange:

Good for Greg Gutfeld! He called out Fox News’ Shepard Smith for seeming to justify the lawlessness on the streets of Baltimore by incessantly repeating the Leftist talking points that it is all in the larger “context” of poverty and alleged police brutality. After listening to Smith drone on with that drivel, Gutfeld finally said, “That sounds really disturbing to me. It’s almost as though you are justifying this action, Shep.” Smith denied that, but kept repeating the talking points used for justifying the lawless actions. Roger Ailes needs to get rid of Shepard Smith. . . .

During his breaking news coverage of the Supreme Court’s decision to hear four different cases challenging same-sex marriage bans in four different states this term — Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee — Fox News’ Shepard Smith compared the remaining resistance to marriage equality in this country to those who wanted to keep segregation intact during the Civil Rights Movement. “Not in every case, but in most cases, the same states which were fighting integration are fighting this as well,” Smith said. “Those states which always seem to be behind the curve for reasons which are explainable and understandable. Those are...

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith had something fairly egglike on his face last week when he launched into what should have been a straightforward item about tension between Jennifer Lopez and her old Bronx neighbors.
