Google has leased four office buildings in a vast north San Jose tech campus where it could employ 3,600 workers or more, and has bought a trio of old office buildings in north Mountain View for a quarter-billion dollars, marking eye-popping new expansions of the search giant’s Silicon Valley operations. The latest moves come as the search giant continues to plan for a huge San Jose complex that would dramatically expand its footprint in the Bay Area’s largest city. Google paid $250.2 million for the north Mountain View buildings, according to public documents filed on Tuesday with Santa Clara County....

Ten days after disappearing in the middle of a trail race on March 23, a Malaysian runner is still nowhere to be found. Encik Amri, the technical director of Gopeng Ultra Trail (GUT), confirmed to Runner’s World that Mohammad Ashraf bin Hasan was missing, and that a search and rescue mission of various local groups continues to scour the area of his last known whereabouts. Local authorities, who are directing the search, asked him not to give a full interview before their investigation was complete, he said. Ashraf was one of several hundred competing in the 25K distance (others attempted...

Search suggestions for embattled hate hoaxer Jussie Smollett appear to have been manipulated by Google to show favorable results, compared to auto-complete suggestions from competitors. In a screenshot posted to Reddit, Google search engine users noticed considerable differences between auto-complete suggestions provided by Google and those of DuckDuckGo, Yahoo and Bing. One example from Google shows a user typing “Jussie Smollett is a…,†to which the auto-complete suggests “is a hero,†or “is a twin.â€Â Â

The ISIS territorial “caliphate” may have crumbled, but the terror group's heart beats on for at least as long as its illusory leader evades capture or death and Iraqi intelligence officials insist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, 47, is alive and in hiding.“The latest information is that he is still in the Syrian desert, and could not enter into the Iraqi side because of concerns about evading the security measures on the borders,” Sabah al Namaan, Baghdad’s spokesperson for the counterterrorism agency, told Fox News, stressing that finding the shadowy figure remains of critical importance..Namaan said efforts are still underway to track down Baghdadi.“Killing...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that the Senate would vote on the Green New Deal introduced last week by Sen. Edward Markey, D-Mass., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. "I've noted with great interest the Green New Deal, and we're going to be voting on that in the Senate to give everybody an opportunity to go on record," McConnell told reporters. The bill, which is not expected to pass the Republican-dominated upper chamber, could force some Democrats to make a politically awkward calculation.

Left-wing pop icon Cher went after Democratic Congressional leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, accusing them of “putting lives in danger” by failing to end the ongoing government shutdown. In a now-deleted tweet, Cher warned that Democrats are vulnerable to the political fall out over the shutdown, and that their current refusal to negotiate makes them look like “obstructionist swamp scum.” “DEMS,STOP SHUTDOWN B4 TRUMP DOES,” she wrote. “HELL B HERO & MAKE U LOOK LIKE OBSTRUCTIONIST SWAMP SCUMâ€¼ï¸ Â“HE HAS NO SCRUPLES.HES PLAYING IT RIIGHT,& UR PLAYING RIGHT IN2 HIS HANDS.HEÂ’LL EAT UR LUNCH & STEAL UR LUNCH ‼ï¸YOUÂ’LL...

Pelosi took a more pragmatic way of saying it, suggesting that they will wait until the end of the Mueller investigation. The far left base isn’t that patient. And the rabid anti-Trumpers in the Democratic Party want impeachment now. They need revenge for losing the 2016 election. Last night, freshman Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan said at a MoveOn reception that “they’re gonna impeach the mother******.” The only question is when.

A skunk may be after my flowers. I used to have a flower garden in my backyard. A few years ago I decided to move my flowers to the front yard so my neighbors could enjoy them. I found that I could keep some them blooming in the winter by surrounding them with water in containers and covering them with transparent tarps. On warm days I uncover them so can enjoy the ones that are still green or even blooming. They often begin growing again in early March so they are doing well by the end of April. A week...

A clerk at Xhale City vape shop in Tucker, Atlanta went absolutely ballistic after a customer wearing a Trump t-shirt walked into the establishment. The pro-Trump customer was denied service and asked to leave the store while the vape shop employee accused him of being a “racist motherf*cker.” A black man was also standing in front of the counter watching it all go down and it was all caught on video. “If you do not stop recording in my store, I’m going to call the police and ask you to leave,” the triggered employee said. Back in the day, I was one of the first people to start using Google as a search engine. I liked it’s clean interface, and simplicity. Of course, over the years, other people also found this to be the preferential search engine. Unfortunately, Google became big, powerful and yes, evil. They siphon up your personal information with zero regard to fourth amendment protections. They sell the information to the highest bidder, and give it away for free if the person is part of a government agency. Unfortunately, people like myself VALUE privacy. And that means that I no longer can...

No one likes dealing with bureaucracy, but some kinds of bureaucracy are easier to tolerate than others. It's no picnic for a kid to get their learner's permit, take driving lessons, complete a written driving exam and then take a driving test in order to get their license. The good news is that the driver's license system works. When your kid completes the steps, they'll get their driver's license. If only job-hunting were such a simple process! When you complete an online job application, you're guaranteed exactly nothing. You may get an interview and you may not. You may hear...

NEW YORK — A state lawmaker is proposing a change to New York’s gun laws to allow authorities to search social media for potential red flags before approving a handgun license. State Senator Kevin Parker’s bill would mandate that applicants provide investigators with their Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram passwords and access to their Google, Yahoo and Bing searches. The Brooklyn Democrat wants investigators to look at the last three years of an applicant’s social media postings and a year of their search histories for “any good cause for the denial of a license,” such as racial slurs, threats of...

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday that the Garden State would set aside more than $2 million to provide legal aid for low-income immigrants facing deportation. The first-year Democrat announced the allocation in the current fiscal year's budget hours before a federal judge barred the Trump administration from enforcing a recently enacted rule denying asylum to anyone who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. "Families who came to New Jersey for a better life do not deserve to be torn apart by the federal government's cruel and discriminatory policies," Murphy said in a statement. The budget agreement calls for $925,000 to...
