So trump will have a primetime platform across broadcast and cable tomorrow night to push the idea of a “crisis” at the southern border,” Politico media reporter Michael Calderone said in a tweet. CSPAN will also televise the address. [cut] Breitbart News previously reported that many television networks were debating whether or not...

The president's remarks Thursday came less than 24 hours before he was set to meet with congressional leaders to discuss the ongoing shutdown and his border wall funding request. President Donald Trump took to the White House briefing room Thursday to tell reporters that he is winning a fight over funding for his promised border wall that has kept parts of the government shut down for nearly two weeks. "I have never had so much support as I have in the last week over my stance for border security, for border control, and for frankly, the wall or the barrier,"...

WASHINGTON – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez still won’t say whether she’s giving up her salary during the partial government shutdown — a move she previously advocated for all lawmakers. “I’ve gotta run!” Ocasio-Cortez told The Post when asked the question Thursday on Capitol Hill. She then scampered down a crowded hallway to get in line for her mock swearing-in with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

ShareTweet Did you people really think you could pull a fast one on President Donald Trump? Our president has been winning negotiations his entire life (read: “The Art of the Deal”). Did you, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, think he was going to back away from the Wall just because you introduce some pathetic bills that do not include Wall funding? President Trump got out ahead of the dirty Democrats’ sneak plays, making it clear through his own tweets, through his White House consigliere Mick Mulvaney, through his Freedom Caucus ally Mark Meadows, and through Mitch McConnell’s spokesman that he...

The meeting will mark the first time...

With no end in sight for a 10-day-old government shutdown, Coast Guard helicopter mechanic Bradley Jones prepared for an overnight shift on New Year’s Eve worried that his family’s mounting bills won’t get paid. Like more than 1,100 other Coast Guard personnel living and working in the Tampa Bay area, Jones, 26, got a temporary reprieve when the Trump administration and the service branch came up with a reported $75 million to fund paychecks due Jan 1. But beyond that, there are no guarantees. And for a force whose motto is Semper Paratus — Latin for “always ready” — the...

House Democrats will propose a two-part plan to reopen the federal government once they take power on Thursday, according to multiple Democratic aides. The proposal, however, won’t provide President Donald Trump with his much sought-after border money boost. Their plan would fund the Department of Homeland Security until Feb. 8, and all other closed agencies — such as Transportation, Commerce and Agriculture — for the rest of the fiscal year through Sept. 30. Democrats intend to vote on the plan Thursday, the same day they officially wrest control of the House from Republicans. But the Senate won’t accept the measures...

FULL TITLE: GOP Rep. Brooks: How Much American Blood on Hands of Pelosi, Schumer Before They Help with Border Security? Sunday on WAAY’s “Guerrilla Politics,” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said the government shutdown will end when the amount of “American blood” on the hands of Democratic leadership becomes overwhelming. Brooks said, “It is a very tough position that the Democrats have put us in. On the one hand you have got thousands of Americans who are dead each year because of the Democrats’ refusal to secure the border. Those Americans are dying either because they have been murdered by illegal...

Nancy Pelosi, the next speaker of the House of Representatives, is reportedly spending the government shutdown at a Hawaiian resort. A person answering the media contact number for Pelosi's office identified herself as "press desk." She said she would pass on a message on to the deputy chief of staff, Drew Hammill, who did not respond. According to the Washington Free Beacon, the California Democrat was seen Thursday at the Fairmont Orchid resort, which features accommodations up to almost $5,000 a night.

A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee says she was unable to get her family as much for Christmas as she typically does because of the ongoing partial government shutdown. "My son made a comment where he said Santa didn't give us as much as he did last year, and that was heartbreaking," the unidentified employee told Buzzfeed News. "We try to not be materialistic with our kids, but it kind of hurt that he noticed," she added. The employee added that her husband is also a federal employee and said they aren't sure when they will again receive paychecks.

President Trump remained out of public view Friday as the partial government shutdown reached the one-week mark, content to issue threats via Twitter amid a continuing standoff with Democrats over border wall funding. In the evening, Trump left the White House for a short ride to Vice President Pence’s residence to join him, acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and...

During a combative White House meeting with Democratic leaders on Dec. 11, President Trump declared that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was constrained in her ability to negotiate for a border wall because of a leadership fight in the House. Advertisement > “Mr. President, please don't characterize the strength that I bring to this meeting as the leader of the House Democrats, who just won a big victory," Pelosi shot back. Later, aides put out word that she had mocked Trump’s border wall as “a manhood thing” for him....

Has anyone been louder in advocating for a higher minimum wage than New York's Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer? He's bellowed that minimum wages should be raised to at least $12 an hour, attempting to shame Republicans for opposing him, by calling it, (kid you not), "a moral issue," as he put it. He's pretty much defined the Democratic Party in the minds of voters by his hammerings on the minimum wage. Then he went and put out an ad calling for unpaid interns. According to the New York Post: WASHINGTON – Sen. Schumer listed job openings for unpaid interns — but...
