Campus Reform has this bizarre tale from Santa Monica College, where the “EcoSexual Extravaganza” took place earlier this month. Students married the ocean and “made love with the water” in order to foster a greater love for the Earth. Some attendees even explained the importance of consent regarding beginning a “physical relationship” with the planet: Amber Katherine, a philosophy professor who helped organize the May 14 event, explained to Campus Reform that the purpose of the “wedding” was to bring about a deeper love for the planet through “ecocentric passion and even lust.” […] Some students then made their way...

Earlier this month, a professor at Santa Monica College led students in an ‘EcoSexual Sextravaganza’ in which participants ‘married the ocean.’ Amber Katherine, a philosophy professor who helped organize the May 14 event, explained to Campus Reform that the purpose of the “wedding” was to bring about a deeper love for the planet through “ecocentric passion and even lust.”Some students then made their way down to the water, where they were urged by event organizers to “consummate” the marriage and “make love with the water.” “Stick your toes in the water … or any part of your body that you...

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday dismissed the jeers and catcalls directed at him during a college commencement speech earlier this week, saying the protesters were inspired by unions who oppose his November special election. Schwarzenegger said he thought most of the 600 graduates at Santa Monica College were attentive and respectful Tuesday. "So these were all union people that were organizing this demonstration," he said on Fox's "The O'Reilly Factor." "It was not the students that were protesting. The students had great respect and they enjoyed my speech."

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to his alma mater turned into an exercise in perseverance when virtually his every word was accompanied by catcalls, howls and piercing whistles from the crowd. Schwarzenegger's face appeared to redden during his 15-minute commencement address Tuesday to 600 graduates at Santa Monica College, but he ignored the shouting as he recalled his days as a student and, later, his work as a bodybuilder and actor. "Always go all out and overcome your fears," he told the graduates. "Work, work, work. Study, study, study." Inside the stadium, the drone from hundreds of...

We had tons of media exposure -- all of the local TV stations, radio, and print outlets were there, and many interviewed folks from our side. We should see some of this...

IN THE WORLD according to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, there are plenty of spaces at our community colleges to serve thousands of students he wants to divert from the University of California and California State University systems. Why, Schwarzenegger pointed out in a Sacramento press conference this week, there are 7,000 openings at Santa Monica Community College alone -- the place where our governor enrolled as a poor immigrant from Austria.
