Santa Monica, CA -- A shooting has been reported near the campus of Southern California's Santa Monica College. Santa Monica police Sgt. Rudy Flores several victims are down and the shooter is also believed to be down. Flores says numerous witness called to report a man on a street corner shooting at vehicles including a bus. The location is about three miles from where President Barack Obama is appearing at a fundraiser. Santa Monica College is a two-year college with about 34,000 students. The campus in the coastal Los Angeles suburb spreads out over 38 acres.

In a very classy gesture over 50 faculty members at Santa Monica College sent a letter to the Governor to apologize for students and staff members who heckled him as he presented the key note address a their graduation proceedings back on June 14th. The governor is gone, but sparks are still flying at Santa Monica College as faculty and officials engage in a heated debate over whether to apologize for the raucous reception that greeted Arnold Schwarzenegger at this month's graduation ceremony.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday dismissed the jeers and catcalls directed at him during a college commencement speech earlier this week, saying the protesters were inspired by unions who oppose his November special election. Schwarzenegger said he thought most of the 600 graduates at Santa Monica College were attentive and respectful Tuesday. "So these were all union people that were organizing this demonstration," he said on Fox's "The O'Reilly Factor." "It was not the students that were protesting. The students had great respect and they enjoyed my speech."
