Schwarzenegger in Santa Monica (6/14) A.N.S.W.E.R./unions self-destructing, Arnold to visit FReepers
update: TUESDAY (6/14) Defend SANTA MONICA COLLEGE Grads (& Arnold) from DISRUPTION by A.N.S.W.E.R. ^ | June 12, 2005 | RonDog [and FRiends]

WONDERFUL NEWS!

The forces of Darkness which had threatened to DISRUPT the graduation ceremonies
and PREVENT Governor Schwarzenegger from delivering the commencement address at
SANTA MONICA COLLEGE
next Tuesday (6/14)

and prevent the People of California from voting in a Special Election this November
have FAILED, and their rally plans are now self-destructing. :o)

Meanwhile, the "GOOD Guys" (that would be US!)
are getting STRONGER every day!

Please JOIN US at 4 pm, near at 16th and Pico,
and help promote our POSITIVE message:
"SUPPORT ARNOLD:
LET THE PEOPLE VOTE!"

Here is the CURRENT schedule of events, which is subject to chaange:
4:00 pm
Our "Let Arnold Speak; Let the PEOPLE Vote!" rally begins.
near 16th & Pico

4:30 pm
SMC College Republicans hold press conference, do interviews.
at the ticket gate on 16th, just SOUTH of Pico

5:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Familes and friends of SMC graduates are all safely inside Corsair Studium.

5:30 pm to 6:00 pm
"anti-Arnold" rally begins -- on the OTHER SIDE of campus -- far, FAR away.
20th and Pico

7:00 pm
Arnold arrives, and gives commencement address.
We expect that his security detail will get the Governor safely in and out of the facility -- without EITHER side seeing him.

7:00 pm to 7:30 pm
A handful of leftist SMC faculty radicals demonstrate their tolerance for intellectual diversity.
Current plans are for them to stamp their little feet, hold their breath until their faces turn blue, and then go pout in the corner.
Arnold's response to this childish behavior should be instructive. :o)

7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
post-event "food and fellowship" - with a visit from Arnold?
We plan to meet at a secure PRIVATE location, to be disclosed at our rally.

8:30 pm
"anti-Arnold" mob attempts to harass families leaving the stadium.
(WE will already be gone by then, but the POLICE will be out in force to maintain order, and protect the graduates and their families.)

Schwarzenegger at Santa Monica College Commencement, June 14th.
NEED BODIES!

SMC Republicans | Tom Oster
Posted on 05/26/2005 12:04:26 PM PDT by CalGOPTom

Greetings all! My name is Tom Oster and I am the president of Santa Monica College Republicans. This year, we have been fortunate enough to get Governor Schwarzenegger to come to speak at our graduation commencement on June 14th.

At the moment, however, Gov. Schwarzenegger is, as most of you probably know, being relentlessly pursued and hounded throughout the state by far-left groups, unions and other assorted characters. Faculty and staff on our campus, leftist on-campus groups and outside organizations are coordinating to protest and disrupt our graduation.

We mean to oppose them and stand in support of our own graduation. SMC Republicans, formed in 2003, exists to oppose exactly these sort of on-campus antics. Right now, we are looking for supporters and allies to come to the commencement to support us and the Governor and stand against the crazies.

Our commencement will be on Tuesday, June 14th, starting at 5 pm. It will be at Santa Monica College, 1900 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA. Right now, we are organizing when and where we can have supporters meet and be placed.

We can be contacted at smcrepublicans@yahoo.com.

Thanks again, Tom Oster President, SMC Republicans

I also like THIS idea for a sign at the rally:

SANTA MONICA COLLEGE

EDUCATING FUTURE
GOVERNORS
SINCE 1971.

From www.sacbee.com:

...Schwarzenegger, an immigrant from Austria, attended Santa Monica College and often credits his community college education as crucial to his success as a bodybuilder, movie star and politician.
From www.smccorsair.com:
...What many students don't know is that the governor was enrolled at SMC from 1971-1974, which might be a reason as to why SMC seems to be his preferred community college.
From www.smu.edu:
...And we mustn’t forget the current governor of California: shortly after moving to Southern California from his native Austria, Arnold Schwarzenegger earned seventy-two units at SMC before moving on to success in Hollywood and Sacramento.
And, from www.glendale.edu:
...While a champion bodybuilder in the 1970s, Schwarzenegger attended Santa Monica College on his way to a business and economics degree he ultimately obtained from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, according to published reports.

Schwarzenegger ready to do battle in special election
["summer from hell" officially begins Monday]

Schwarzenegger ready to do battle in special election

By Gary Delsohn -- Bee Capitol Bureau
Published 2:15 am PDT Saturday, June 11, 2005

If the political experts are right, Sacramento's "summer from hell" officially begins Monday.

That's when Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, after months of threats and name-calling, has said he will sign a proclamation setting a special election Nov. 8 for his three initiatives that he says will reform state government. He plans to offer a live statement to television stations statewide at 5 p.m.

The election stakes are extraordinarily high. Some political analysts say Schwarzenegger's political future could be sealed in the outcome...

...he also seems to relish taking on the entire Democratic political establishment all at once. He got a boost Friday when the secretary of state's office said the last two of his proposals - a spending limit and a move to take redistricting out of lawmakers' hands - were certified for the ballot...

...Schwarzenegger has made it clear he intends to push his agenda by continuing to attack the Democrat-controlled Legislature and the powerful public employee labor unions that support and help fund their campaigns.

His top priority, he has said many times, is his initiative to control state spending, the so-called "Live Within Our Means Act."

But most political experts agree the proposal on the ballot that would do the most to shake up the Capitol is one he hasn't even officially endorsed yet.

The "Employee Consent" initiative, certified earlier in the week, would require public employee labor unions to get written approval from members before their dues are used for political purposes.

"This has the potential to substantively change the power structure in California elections," said Allan Hoffenblum...

And, from www.valleyfordemocracy.com:

Rally Against Arnold

Start:
Tue, 06/14/2005 - 5:00pm

SANTA MONICA MARCH AND RALLY AGAINST SCHWARZENEGGER
TUESDAY JUNE 14th, 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Gov. Schwarzenegger has been asked to deliver the commencement speech at Santa Monica College for the June 14th graduation. Let's be out in force to show that we remain united in our opposition to the Governor's cuts to education.

We will begin the march at 5:00 pm at St. Anne's Church (2017 Colorado Ave. (East of 20th Street), Santa Monica, CA 90404; Parking Available at St. Annes and at Calvary Baptist Church at 20th and Broadway). We will march south up 20th street to Pico Blvd.

The RALLY and PROTEST against Schwarzenegger will be held at the corner of PICO and 20th. The rally will be held in the SANTA MONICA COLLEGE parking lot. Protesters lining up along Pico will be able to hear rally speakers. We need people to protest until 8:30 pm to catch attendees leaving the event. Please bring signs to protest the Governor's cuts to education.

We are making signs at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13 at the S.M.A.R.T. Offices in Santa Monica and will have all the supplies and language for writing on the signs. S.M.A.R.T., 525 Colorado, just east of 5th Street, Santa Monica. And for those of you who don¹t know already, we will not have union printed signs, so we need A LOT of handmade signs and thus we need your help A LOT.

Need an idea for a sign? Try these:

* Save Our Schools - Expel Arnold
* Save K-14 Funding
* Arnold's Initiatives Hurt Education
* Yes to Students - No to Arnold
* Don't Tax Students

You **KNOW** that this event will be a public relations "train wreck" for the "Don't Let Arnold Speak; Don't Let the PEOPLE Vote!" crowd when even the "union thugs" are distancing themselves from it. :o)

What an extraordinarily BAD idea! :o)
They plan to START their "march" at 5 pm -- almost ONE MILE away from the campus...
...to get free parking?
Good luck getting their people in place for any MEDIA coverage...
At least not for the 6 o'clock news, when OUR rally will already be going in FULL FORCE.

From Yahoo! MAPS:

star 16th St At Pico Blvd Santa Monica, CA 90405
When using any driving directions or map, it's a good idea to do a reality check and make sure the road still exists, watch out for construction, and follow all traffic safety precautions. This is only to be used as an aid in planning.

I think Arnie can be the VP even though foreign born
cant find anything that says he cant be?..

He would of course be out of the succession loop were
something to happen to the Prez and he were the VP..

But Arnie were the VP that sure would give some incentive
to change the Constitution for Him and others following
in footprints

imo
