It went through one entire report on the arrest before it even mentioned Rahami’s faith. NBC anchor Lester Holt set the stage just as the other networks did, calling Rahami, “a naturalized U.S. citizen from Afghanistan.” They said nothing about his faith. Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel slipped in the key detail in the second report. (CNSNews.com) – Almost 100,000 Somali refugees have been resettled in the United States since 9/11, including 8,619 so far during the current fiscal year. The largest number – some 16 percent of the total over the past 15 years – have been resettled in Minnesota, home to the nation’s biggest Somali-American community. Of the 97,046 Somali refugees admitted to the U.S. since the fall of 2001, 99.6 percent were Muslim, and 28,836 (29.7 percent) were males between the ages of 14 and 50.

Speaking after multiple bombs either exploded or were found in the New York and New Jersey area, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says authorities are seeking Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28. A new report from the Norwegian Police Security Service (Politiets Sikkerhetstjeneste — PST) has found that nearly every fifth radicalized Muslim is a convert to the religion. The PST study attempted to investigate the backgrounds of people in extreme Islamist groups. Everyone in the representative sample study by the security service had been radicalized in Norway and all were under the age of 40.
