Green Bay Packers fans turned out in droves to welcome their Super Bowl championship football team back to town on Monday. Fans lined the city streets all along the Packers’ route from Austin-Straubel Airport back to Lambeau Field after the team’s plane landed around 1:45 p.m. The players and coaches traveled in a caravan of Green Bay city buses, and on some streets fans were lined up as much as five or six people deep, on both sides. Tony Romo may not be making many headlines on the field this season, but that isn't stopping him from making news off of it. The Cowboys QB got engaged to his girlfriend Candice Crawford earlier tonight, according to KDAF-TV in Dallas. The couple was reportedly celebrating Crawford's 24th birthday with her family at Five Sixty at the time of the proposal. Crawford, 2008's Miss Missouri, is an anchor for KDAF-TV.

The Cowboys are playing beyond awful this season but today's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is torture. Has a team ever in its history under-performed this much? There were expectations (real good one's ) that Dallas was going to host their own Super Bowl. So the question is...will Jerry Jones fire Wade before the season is up? Ditto for Garrett? Us Cowboys fans can't take this any longer.

First, the Dallas Cowboys' Web site said that they were going to keep Wade Phillips. Then the team said that wasn't official yet. At the end of the day, though, Phillips is still the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys.Wade Phillips' contract option was picked up and Jerry Jones added two more years to the deal.Phillips is 33-15 in three years with Dallas and has a major playoff win over the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. He has taken this team's defense to second overall in the entire NFL. Seven Cowboys are going to the Pro Bowl this year. More can come...

The playoff picture in the NFC has begun to simplify, New Orleans, Minnesota, Philiadelphia, and Arizona as divison leaders while Green Bay, Dallas, and the NY Giants fight for the two wild cards. Since Dallas defeated Philadelphia earlier, Dallas since has a shot at winning the East. The NY Giants plays at the resurgent Washington Redskins Monday night and are on the outside looking in, but has the tie breaker over Dallas.
