Today, it was announced that Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer, former prefect of the Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF), will not be taking part in the Synod on Synodality 'at his own request.' No other reason was given. The peculiar timing, and absence of any explanation (other than that it was Ladaria's own request), are notable. Ladaria's last day as DDF prefect was September 8. He was replaced on September 11 with Francis loyalist Tucho Fernandez, who has been instructed by Francis to stay away from sex abuse investigations (despite it being a chief duty of his office)....

[Catholic Caucus] The Diocese of Rome’s Rupnik problemThe case of Marko Rupnik, the priest, former member of the Society of Jesus, and alleged serial sexual abuser, is back in the news Monday, after the Diocese of Rome published a statement on its investigation into the artistic community where Rupnik lived and worked. But rather than shedding new light on the accusations against the disgraced religious artist, or how he was allegedly able to groom and sexually abuse women religious for decades, the pope’s diocesan curia issued a statement exonerating the artistic community where he lived and worked. The statement from...

Why a Bishop Should Ignore His Unjust Deposition by a Pope: A DialogueThe following dialogue is based on a real interview that took place between John-Henry Westen and Peter Kwasniewski, the video of which can be seen at LifeSiteNews (link). The transcript has been edited for brevity, clarity, and literary effect (hence the change in names of the speakers, etc.).Servideus: Paulinus, it seems like the pope is going to go after Bishop Strickland. He went after Bishop Daniel Fernández Torres in Puerto Rico, too, when he removed him from office. That bishop allowed for conscientious objection for the COVID vaccines,...

“Genghis Khan was a mass murderer, but at least he wasn’t an American Catholic Reactionary!”No wars of conquest in all of history killed as many people as those of Genghis Khan: an estimated 40 million dead, an amount that wouldn’t be reached (in absolute numbers) until the Second World War, though never surpassed in proportion to the global population at the time. So, what did Francis do? Well, he praised Genghis Khan, of course, in his visit to Mongolia. He says he was a promoter of “religious freedom” (he forgot to say, of those who were tolerated), though, of course, not...

The White House condemned Monday the vandalism of a Catholic church by what appeared to be supporters of legal abortion, but indicated sympathy for their cause. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that protests should be peaceful, criticizing reports of angry protesters vandalizing a Catholic church and a pro-life organization. “We have seen it at Catholic churches, that’s unacceptable,” she said. “The president does not support that.” The headquarters of the pro-life group Wisconsin Family Action in Madison, Wisconsin was vandalized and set on fire Sunday, and remnants of a Molotov cocktail were discovered. Last week, a Catholic church...

Artist responsible for "Piss Christ" guest of Pope in Vatican This week the Pope welcomed artists to the Sistierne Chapel, reminding them that true beauty inspires the desire for God, and renders glory to Him, for the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Vatican Museums’ Collection of Modern Art by Pope St. Paul VI.One of them was Andres Serrano. There is nothing beautiful about his work.He is notorious for "Piss Christ", a photo of a crucifix submerged in his own urine which was destroyed by protestors in 2012, only for the a restored/or replaced version to be sold at...

Washington D.C., May 30, 2023 / 15:50 pm Baltimore police are searching for a man who is accused of attacking and beating two elderly pro-life activists who were praying outside of a Baltimore Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on May 26. According to witnesses cited in the police report, the unidentified suspect attacked a 73-year-old man and an 80-year-old man after engaging in a "debate" with one of the pro-life activists about abortion. The Los Angeles Dodgers told many in their fan base to go to hell by inviting, disinviting, and then comically re-inviting the hyper-sexualized, Catholic-mocking LGBTQIA+ activist group “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” to come onto the field for Pride Night in June to accept a “community hero” award.Their heroic acts include putting on “Hunky Jesus” revues and showcasing men dressed as Catholic nuns simulating gay sex in obvious (and obscene) attempts to mock the Church. Catholic League president Bill Donohue describes their antics:[The group is] “known for simulating sodomy while dressed as nuns. They like to feature a ‘Condom Savior Mass,’...

Since then, a massive reconstruction project has been underway and is apparently on schedule. The head of the construction site, ex-general Jean-Louis Georgelin, sees great progress in construction:"Thanks to strict planning, we are confident and determined to make the Paris cathedral open to worship and the public again in December 2024."Examinations of the building's infrastructure have shown that the cathedral's walls have remained stable despite the major fire, as have most of the vaults. Virginia Democrat Sen. Tim Kaine gave the FBI his approval to investigate Catholic parishes in his own state on Monday. When asked by a local ABC affiliate about the FBI’s Richmond division infiltrating Catholic communities to spy on the church for alleged extremism, Kaine called the revelations a misunderstanding. “I think the key is communication,” Kaine told ABC13. “If the FBI has a concern like that, then go to the church leaders and say, ‘Hey look, we have a concern and we don’t want your members to get unwittingly caught up in something.'”Former FBI Special Agent Kyle Seraphin blew the...

An anonymous letter has made waves in Nicaragua, after it accused the country’s cardinal of being too close to the country’s dictator, President Daniel Ortega. While persecution against the Church in Nicaragua continues unabated, a debate has cropped up among clergy in the country about the controversial, anonymous letter, reportedly written by seminarians, which accuses Managua Cardinal Leopoldo Brenes of fostering a culture of silence in the country’s seminary about ongoing religious persecution. The letter, published March 28 by Spanish Catholic outlet Religión Digital and reportedly written by three current and former seminarians, also claimed that the Nicaraguan dictatorship has...

WESTCHESTER, New York — In a book he says is aimed at the well-educated with an interest in the subject, accomplished psychiatrist and professor, Dr. Richard Gallagher, delivers compelling findings from his decadeslong career to make a compelling case that demons and demonic possession are real phenomena. For many Christians, Gallagher’s findings presented in his 272-page book, Demonic Foes: My Twenty-Five Years as a Psychiatrist Investigating Possessions, Diabolic Attacks, and the Paranormal, first published in the fall of 2020, could simply be treated as an acknowledgment of what the Bible has been telling them for centuries.“In my experience, the idea of...
